Do you drink enough fluids? I'd recommend that you buy some rehydration sachets from the chemist and take just for a couple of days. These contain all the salts that your body needs. Cramp is often caused by lack of body salts.
Hope that helps, those leg cramps are murder!

Lack of water/potassium. Try eating a banana before bed or taking a potassium tablet. What ever you do don't take any kind of water pill or diuretic cause this will make your cramps worse! Stay away from over the counter diet pills also. Most of them have diuretics in them.

To make the pain go away instantly, point your toes up towards your shin and hold your foot there for a few minutes..the pain in your calves will go away. You may need some extra vitamin D to help with the cramps, ask your doctor. Feel better.

I know a lady that wound up in the hospital from that.
also try gentle stretches a couple times a day.
a hot soaky- bath( making sure you are well hydrated) helps, too. It helps my restless legs and as an added bonus I get to use my Mr. Bubble!

Try changing your shoes, they may be causing this. Massage your leg when it cramps and if it persists then ask your doctor. Sometimes, low potassium can cause this too.

You are probably lacking enough potassium in your diet (bananas are a great source). If you get too much potassium, it can also cause this.
