  • ***NEW*** Christmas Hip Hop?

I am looking for some NEWER Christmas hip hop music. I saw someone's post about making a mixed CD for a secret Santa gift. But it was all old school stuff. Any NEW stuff out there that's hip hop?

  • Why is figuring area important to kids?

I know that it is important in many careers as adults. Besides mentioning these careers, how can I explain the importance of knowing it NOW versus 15 years down the road? How can they use area in their lives (third graders)?

  • How do I blend our 2 cultures?

I looked at a bookstore for information about Muslim weddings and traditions. I am converting to Islam and we don't want to get married at the mosque. We want it very small and intimate - maybe 20 guests at the most. This is my second marriage and his first. We just got engaged and we plan to marry around Spring Break or in May once school is out. What do you suggest for an officiant and locations and blending of the two cultures?

  • Does he still care?

I'm separated (5 mos. ago). A guy started pursuing me and told me how beautiful I was, was considerate, and had a lot of things in common. He didn't know I was separated. So I told him one night and he was okay with it. Then on our date, he acted really distant. So did his brother and sister-in-law (we went with them). He wouldn't tell me what they said about me being separated (we all attend a pretty conservative church). He said he just wanted it to be a friend thing. I told him I could live with that but it wasn't what I wanted since he originally called it a date. He seemed wishy-washy with his behavior the rest of the night. Then he ignored me the rest of the weekend. I emailed him to say I was okay with us just being friends. He emailed two days later and said, "I had a really great time and hope you did too. I just don't think it'll work out. Let's just be friends." Do you think he'll wait until I'm divorced? Is he still interested? I'm 28 and he's 42.

  • Success with dual-purpose food (kitten and cat)?

Let me know if this has worked for you. We have an almost 2 year old girl cat (fixed) and we're gettinga 7 week old male kitten tonight. I've read about combination foods just a minute ago. Our adult cat loves to eat practically anything (including bugs and the carpet fibers that come out of the carpet on the floor). We just don't want her eating all of his food before he can. Please let me know if you have used any brand of this kind. Did your adult cat gain weight? Or stay the same? Did the kitten gain appropriate weight? Or did it remain skinny?

  • How to do feeding time for 2 different aged cats?

We're picking up a 7 week old male kitten tonight. We already have an almost 2 year old female cat (fixed, of course). We taught our female cat how to graze during the day by leaving only a certain amount of food out for her (she loves to eat, so she had to learn to not eat more than the recommended amount).

We want to do free-feeding with the new kitten but we're afraid the adult cat will eat his kitten food when we're gone. Will the kitten get hurt by trying to eat adult cat food?

We discourage the adult cat from getting on the tables, counters, shelves. For the most part, she understands. We don't want to put her food up high because that will only confuse her. We don't have a cat tree, but we may be saving toward one.

We thought about feeding when we woke up until we went to work, then from the time we got home until bedtime. That's what we did with the adult cat, but she was 5 months when we adopted her. Will that be enough time for a 7 week old kitten?

  • Getting a boy cat fixed?

We already have a 1 1/2 year old girl cat who is fixed. We are getting a 7 week old boy kitten on Friday. When is it okay to get him fixed? When do boy cats start spraying? A friend told me that boy cats can get something like crystals from getting fixed too early. I'm not sure what she was really talking about. Do you?

  • How do I introduce new kitten to existing cat in household?

We have a girl cat who is 1 1/2 years old. She still has lots of energy and acts like a kitten still. She loves a lot of attention and gets jealous if my dh and I are hugging or trying to go to sleep in the same bed. She'll attack ME.

We are getting a 7 week old boy kitten on Friday after work. He is the kind of kitten that loves to be held and purrs very loudly. He is a little more calm than his other brothers.

How can we socialize the two cats in a positive way? I'm just afraid that our psychotic girl cat may slaughter him when we're away at work next week.

  • How do I discover the breeding of my "mutt" cat?

My cat was rescued as a kitten with her siblings (mom was hit by car). They knew nothing of the types of cats that the parents were.

My cat: brown tabby, with orange and white spots

    Brother cat: orange tabby

    Sister cat: pale gray tabby

Other sister cat: pale orange tabby

I was trying to find out the breed because I was trying to find out why my cat behaves the way she does. Someone asked if she was the Burmese breed. I started looking at websites tonight. I found all the characteristics of my cat under the Burmese breed on this website I've listed, but she looks like a normal American brown tabby (except her face looks different). The only thing she may not fit (as far as a Burmese goes) is that she doesn't feel like she weighs like a brick (read the breed on the link).

Any other suggestions than just guessing about her breed? Would it cost a lot to find out her breed (if there was a medical way)?

  • Cat licking plastic bags?

Recently, my cat has been trying to lick the trash can bag (the part that hangs over the edge of the can). She also tries to lick a plastic bag hung over a suit in my husband's closet. Why? I first thought we had food dripped onto the one by the trash can (it's in the kitchen). But when we've seen her licking the one in the closet, we were wondering why.

  • Mineral Wear Makeup?

I've heard that an ingredient in this type of make-up is a known carcinogen and with repeated use of the make-up, it could cause cancer. Is this true? I had considered buying some for when I graduate and have a career where I need to look nice every day. Cheap make-up always makes me break out so I don't wear any (even the kind that's for break-out prone skin).

  • The Girl Who Spelled Freedom movie?

This was a Disney Sunday Night movie in the mid 1980s, I believe. It has always been my favorite movie. Can anyone tell me whether you know if I can buy it somewhere? I only have it recorded from TV during the original showing of it. I cannot find it to buy on Amazon. Everyone I talk to has no idea about the movie. Maybe I was the only one to see it?

  • Food Allergy Testing?

Does most insurance companies cover allergy testing? If you don't have insurance and you're diagnosed with an allergy, will that prevent you from getting insurance?

Can you be tested for allergies and sensitivities in the same way?

    How much does it cost?

    Is it done by bloodwork?

  • Mouth Cancer - Symptoms?

I used to smoke - only recreationally. It lasted for about 10 years off and on. I was never a heavy smoker by any means. I MAYBE would finish one pack in a week and a half. It has been at least 2 years since I last smoked. Sometimes I would go 8-10 months without ever smoking. It was a really random thing.

Last year I went to the dentist for a normal check-up and he saw a medium-sized black circle on the skin inside my cheek. He thought I had just bitten my cheek. It was still there when I've been back both times for my latest two teeth cleanings. Could this be a sign of cancer?

My grandpa died of color cancer and my grandma has had kidney cancer (she survived). I think that there is also skin cancer and breast cancer (distantly) in my family. I stopped the social smoking because of this fear. I try to eat healthy and use sunscreen (I also don't go outside much in the summer). I exercise a few times a week. Please help!

  • Blood Glucose Test of 75?

I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). Many women who have this also have Diabetes or are Insulin Resistant. One of the many tests used to diagnose PCOS is to test whether or not we are diabetic or insulin resistant. My blood glucose level was 75. One doctor told me it was in the normal range (which is still possible for having PCOS, not all women with it have diabetes or IR). Another told me I was IR. An acquaintance I know who does medical transcriptioning said I was IR form what she's read while transcribing. Can you tell me which is true?

  • Box-elder bugs a Nuisance?

We have a massive problem with these bugs (similar to lightening bugs, but no light on their backsides) late spring until the first freeze. They crawl into the house via the window air conditioners (we have two in two different areas of the house). We did two bug bombs inside last year. We also bought outdoor spray and sprayed almost every other week. Nothing worked. The hotter it gets outside, the more they come inside. They drive our cat crazy and we get tired of having them land on our food, or in the cat's food, or on clean dishes, or have dead ones laying all over the floor.

Any suggestions? We've used the Home Defense outdoor spray.

This is only our 2nd year in the house. So we don't know if there was a huge problem before. It was my grandma's house and she would've told me if it was a bad problem. Should we call an actual exterminator later this spring?

  • What computer games can you play on an Apple (if any)?

I find the Apple computers and MacBooks very appealing. I am an education major and many teachers use and are successful with Apple. But I also enjoy playing games like The Sims and Sim City 4. I also like to play Heroes of Might and Magic 4. Are there any comparable games for Apple or should I just invest in a PC? Or, with Parallels on Apple, can I run those games?

  • Surprise romantic meal ideas for husband?

I would like to make a romantic meal for my husband. I would appreciate recipes and/or ideas for this meal. We are on a fixed food budget, so I try to find recipes that have 5 ingredients or less with an occassional recipe over 5 ingredients (and that's total including all spices and liquids) in order to stretch our money for the whole month. Any ideas for a romantic dinner on a budget?

  • Save money with blueberries?

I have a random bag of blueberries in the freezer. I'm a cook that tries to use as few of ingredients as possible in recipes to save money. I live by the 4-Ingredient Cookbooks!

I was wondering what are some cheap and simple ways to use the blueberries? The only thing I can think of is a blueberry smoothie or shake. Any other ideas?

  • Toyota Matrix vs. Pontiac Vibe?

Does this car last as long or work as well as a Toyota Camry? Would you think it is better than the Pontiac Vibe? Do you think it would last longer than the Vibe? I've read that both companies designed their cars very similar. My husband thinks I should choose the Matrix because it's a Toyota and he thinks it would run better and last longer than a Vibe. Do you think this is true? Does anyone know the major differences between the two?
