Why are there different methods of baptism in Christianity today?
The Bible and early church history show baptism was practised by immersion calling the name of Jesus Christ on the believer. Who changed it and why? Is the original method still used today by some churches?

2 AnswersOther - Australia1 decade agoDo pugs have extra sensitive skin?
We have 2 pugs and they are great little dogs. But they both seem to have problems with their skin (the male more than the female). The vet gives us allergy shampoo but it doesn't seem to do much. I am curious if anyone else has had any similar experiences with this breed?

5 AnswersLangues1 decade agoWhat sort of parasite is this on my plant?
These are leaves off of a beautiful climbing vine that I have on my side fence. Recently the leaves are turning brown and have this flaky dark substance on the main line in the center of the leaves. Some has moved out towards the center as you can see by the photos.
I would like to know what it is, how to treat it and prevent it.
I really would rather not cut the vine back, if it can be helped, as it is in flower and also is attached to a privacy fence.

If you knew that someone was gaming (multiple voting for their answers, from different accounts) in this category as well as in other categories, would you report them to Yahoo Answers? This is clearly against rules and I am tired of seeing it. Maybe I should send in 'multiple complaints' from the other family accounts....

Tell me how to write this in Creole:

4 AnswersMauritius1 decade agoHave you ever seen a real puppy mill?
I have. Multiple dog breeds, living in cages in warehouses or kennel blocks with several females to a block. These dogs are NOT pets, they have no family and their one and ONLY purpose in life is to reproduce more of their breed. I am surprised the breeder allowed me in the door.
Have you ever personally seen a similar situation?

You know, the kind that feels like all the muscles are bunching in the calf of your leg...happens to me quite a bit during the night.
7 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoBreeders, would you consider the following to be 'betterment of the breed'?
In France, professional breeders have changed the pug in a way which they feel is an improvement. Because pugs are known to have respiratory problems, the face has been changed (the pug nose has been altared). Secondly, a lot of French people live in apartments and prefer very little dogs. (The yorkie is extremely popular there). Most pugs in France now look about the size of a 3-4 month old pug puppy of normal size. They can be easily carried in your hands. Their eyes are much buggier, they are thinner than usual and their face looks weird, frankly.
This has been done to improve the "health" and to have a "more desirable size" pug. It makes me more than a little upset. The pug has been around for a minimum of 4000 years with little change in the original appearance of this breed, and has survived quite well "as is". Do you feel that this type of breeding (by the professionals) is ok? This was not done with random breeding, but by deliberate breeding.
11 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhy are family breeders sometimes referred to as 'backyard breeders' in a derogatory manner?
Many family breeders have lovely, healthy purebred puppies. Most family breeders only breed one type of dog, a breed that they enjoy themselves and the pups are raised with the family.
14 AnswersDogs1 decade agoDo you find it acceptable for a breeder to put down puppies who do not come up to standard?
(Not up to standard in appearance)
For example according to breed standard a boxer should not have more than 1/3 white coloring as the white coloring has been bred out of them by design. Is it ok with you that white boxers or too much white boxers are sometimes put down. (May I add that they are not albinos). This is done for the "betterment of the breed", a phrase we see a lot on this forum.
21 AnswersDogs1 decade agoFamily breeder or Professional breeder, which would you choose?
If you wanted to purchase a certain breed of dog for a companion/pet, which way would you go and why?
Both breeders have AKC registered puppies, which have had vet exam and vaccinations to date. The family breeder is asking $500 and the professional breeder is asking $1500. All the puppies are nice looking dogs.
