in lieu of notice?

I worked at small transmission shop for about one week ,and I gave my 2 weeks notice on monday the 5th of 2007(because of mis-communication about money). I was canned on saturday the 10th(one week early). Should I OR could I go to unemployment and demand my "lieu of notice

    You are an employee at will - they can terminate you at any time for any reason. The fact that you gave your notice will probably make if difficult for you to get unemployment. Some companies don't accept notice and don't have to. You are stuck this time.
