You wont get the protection that it says. It will either give you little or perhaps no protection against the sun. Depending on how old and past the expired date it is. If its less than a month that it would of only lost a bit of its protection but anything over a month dont use it, its just like putting on nothing at all.

Are there any risks with using expired sunblock?

If it is entirely made up of phsyical ingredients such as titanium Dioxide and zinc, then it shouldn't evoke much worries. But still, better don't use a product which expires more than 1/2-1 year long.

It may no longer protect you from burning and also the product that blocks the harmful UVA and UVB rays may no longer protect as well as before. There is a reason that these things have dates. Just be smart about it, if the date is a few weeks past you're probably fine, a few months or years would be bad.

Hi
Yes you should not use expired sun block. It loses its strength and does not work as well.
Just buy some fresh...Lots of stores have buy one get one free offers on sun block and it will last you the summer. Its imporatnt to protect your skin - as the sun can cause skin cancer and also badly ages your skin so best protect!!!

Yes, the expiry on products is there for a reason. It's effectiveness is nolonger guaranteed and so you need to throw it out. Don't mess with sun damage on your precious skin. Buy some new sunscreen and go out with the confidence that you will not burn or damage your skin.

Depending on how long ago it expired, it will offer a decreasing amount of UV protection.
