We get points for answering, points for best answer and points for thumbs up on best answer.?
Should YA deduct points for thumbs down as away of controlling the more offensive answers.
Ok good points but I like the worst answer suggestion.

The possibilty of abuse would be to great. . .
However, I think that if you get a star, you should get a point, and the person giving them should lose one, like giving you a point.
It would making giving a star more meaning. . .

I don't think we should have points deducted for thumbs down because not all of those answers are offensive to others.

Good suggestion, maybe there should be a "worst answer" as well, for the most offensive, or off the subject answer, where you lose 5 or 10 points.

No I don't think so. I feel as a good upright Yahoo-law abiding citizen - I've been given thumbs down without justification, so I would feel double-whammied if points were taken away too!

Not really at times a person might give you a thumbs down because they disagrre with you, that doesnt make them right. Yahoo should give us points for thumbs up on all answers not just best answers

Lets face it we are always going to get the occasional saddo on here , but sometimes there are things we all can't agree on smoking as an example you do i dont so we'll vote different ways , but i agree the people who post offensive material should be banned from the site for life !!

Probably not - a lot of the answers that get a thumbs down are ok answers... maybe the person just doesn't like then .....

Sounds like a better way than immediate loss of 10 points and a violation notice with no route for appeal. I'm all for it.
