How can you safely and quickly defrost chicken??

Put the chicken in a bowl, set in the sink and let COLD water run over it. The water does not have to be turned on full blast, just a steady stream. Hot water on raw meat will cause bacteria to grow and cause a person to get sick. Do not risk it. I work in food service we are not allowed to have raw meat defrost in hot water due to this fact. Chicken breasts take about 20 minutes to defrost using this method.

Assuming the chicken is wrapped nicely the best way to 'quickly' defrost is under cold running water. It depends on how you want the chicken to end up once it's defrosted. If you don't mind it being a bit cooked already (like if you plan to stew it anywayz) microwave it.. if you would rather have it completely raw use the cold water method. depending on the size of the chicken pieces it should defrost in about an hour or two.

Defrosting chicken in microwave is the best solution for quickly and safely defrost chicken. But you need to keep some important points in mind while defrosting like
--> Make sure to use microwave with low power when you defrosting the chicken meat.
--> Do not put too many chicken pieces inside of the microwave.
--> Do not leave the defrosting process while you are using microwave.

Use your microwave oven's defrost feature to defrost the chicken. Mine takes 15 minutes at 30 watts

Microwave on defrost for about 10 minutes. Most have that setting or set the microwave on low power.

Ok, get the chicken... soak it in COLD water even though that doesnt kill of bacteria and will give you serious chest and throat infections... ok :) ignore what I just said and just remember the SOAK IN COLD WATER BIT. wrap it up gently with some wrapping paper (I recommend christmas) then chuck it in the oven after letting it soak in COLD water, did I mention COLD WATER??? ok... then chuck it out of the window on a warm summers day (the defrosting bit) and wait 10-15mins. Ok, now you need to jump out of the window (which is risking your life and you will probably break one of your chicken legs) but it doesnt matter.... and then EAT IT! (eat the chicken AND your broken chicken leg) HAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

take you chicken out put it in the sink pour cold water in the sink a few hrs or you can microwave on defrost it's okay

Keeping it wrapped up tight in it's little waterproof shrinkwraped plastic bit let it soak in cool to luke-warm water in your sink, changing the water occasionally. Microwaving it makes it nasty and gummy. It is quicker that way, but so not worth it...
