Raiders fans, who do you want with the #1 pick in the draft?

Russell, Johnson or someone else. If you want to trade down, explain who you'd give up and who you'd get.

I always award best answer points and thank you in advance for all of you responses.

I actually a Raiders Fan - silver and black still I die...

Russell is a joke - he had 1 good game against a horrible defense - kyle boller also had a great pro day and what has he done? He wasnt even mentioned before he had that one good game

I don't really like Brady Quinn either - he could end up being a great QB but if we draft him now he'll end up like Joey Harrington being horrible because our OL is just sad

Drafting a Qb in the first round can be hit or miss look at players like Tim Couch - and Tom Brady who I think is the best qb in the league was drafted in the 6th

People are always hating on andrew walters but you cant even judge him with the OL we had last year he was running for his life trying not to get sacked every play - even Payton Manning would have had a bad year with that OL

I would trade away Randy Moss to the Packers for Aaron Rodgers and have him battle walters for the starting qb

We need to get our running going and the new coach knows that - thats why he signed Rhodes and Griffith - that brings me to my #1 pick

JOE THOMAS 6'6 311 and runs a 4.8 !!!! We need to build our OL from the draft like the Jets did last year and they went from 3 overall pick to the playoffs - and didnt everyone doubt Chad Pennington - as Ive said you can't judge a qb that has a horrible OL - sign Thomas for 7 years and use the 2nd round pick on another offensive lineman - if we build a good OL we can run the ball and then our qb actually has a chance

If we do draft a QB dont expect him to do good with this OL he will probably have a horrible year and loose all his confidence

Well if they dont trade Moss to the packers then, the raiders should definitely get Russell. He looked good in his workout the other day, and him throwing to Randy should inject some life in this offense. But right now it looks as though the packers and raiders are about to strike a deal to send Moss to the packers and Aaron Rodgers is gonna be coming to the raiders. IF that is the case, drafting Russell doesnt make a whole lot of sense. At that point they should grab Calvin Johnson to replace Moss. I think Russell is better and has more potential than Rodgers, but getting Calvin and getting rid of Moss at this point seems like the best thing for the team.

I think that they have to get a quarterback because andrew walter just isnt going to get the job done. Jamarcus russell is the hands down best qb in the draft. Hes got a cannon of an arm, hes 6-6 and 260 pounds and can take a hit and led LSU to 10+ wins in both seasons he started. He also completed almost 70% of his passes to quinns low 60's and even creamed quinn head to head. At the beginning of the year i would have had to say that quinn was the best qb but he didnt lead the irish to even a bowl win and barely squeaked by with wins against michigan state and ucla and against top tier competition got demolished.

I also think its a good idea to trade randy moss for a first or second round pick to someone in need of a receiver and maybe pick a good receiver up that round. I also think they need a better running back because lamont jordan is overrated and they need someone good to run the ball. All in all the raiders have a lot of holes and even with jamarcus russell will probably only win 5-6 games max but in a couple years with some top draft picks could be back up top in the NFL.

I think that Oakland should take Jamarcus Russel with the first pick, definitely. He is someone you can build a franchise around, and the Raiders definitely need some rebuilding.

Also, Randy Moss has to go. Offer him up for a trade for a fourth or fifth round draft pick, and pick up a middle tier receiver. Tennessee's WR Meachem is keyed to be taken in the first round, but he could slip through the cracks and that would be a perfect addition to Russel's arm. He can run patterns with precision, and he goes up and gets the ball better than almost anyone in the draft (except Johnson).

If Oakland screws up and takes Calvin Johnson instead of Russel, then they'll have another "great" receiver with no one to throw the ball to him. After they get these two players, they need to focus on stiffening up their offensive line.

I like Brady Quinn first overall. Jamarcus Russel has all of the measurables but very little game proven ability. He had essentially one great game against a decent team all last year, that being in the Sugar Bowl against an extremely sub par ND D. Quinn has some questions along the lines of big game performances as well but not nearly as many. I normally would advocate trading the pick for more choices and perhaps some proven talent as well but in the case of the Raiders, with their situation at QB, they almost have to take either Russel or Quinn, and I believe Quinn to be the superior QB.

I'd go with either Russell or Quinn, but I wouldn't take Quinn at the #1 pick. I say trade down a couple of spots and take Quinn. Add a few extra picks because let's face it. This team needs more help than just a franchise quarterback. I'd almost take Adrian Peterson if not for the injury risk. But in the end, you have to find your QB and I'm not sure which one is better.

Troy Smith??? there is not any way in hell they take Troy Smith, until they take him with the 1st %. of the 2nd around. no person is even staring at him until ultimately a minimum of the twentieth %.. you will possibly be able to desire to take Brady Quinn with that %.. he's via a techniques the main NFL waiting QB popping out. the only different person worth of a #a million could be Adrian Peterson, however the Raiders have an excellent run recreation and want a QB badly.

Jamarcus Russel its a given, hes the best QB in the draft and they despretely need a QB, with aaron brooks, horrible performance in the 06 season there looking not to make that same mistake. Jamarcus russel is a guy to build a franchise around he will be excellent in there system.

I'm not a Radier fan. but if I were, I'd want Brady Quinn. Reminds me of Peyton Manning. JaMarcus Russell will be the next Daunte Culpepper. 1 good year, followed by 2 horrible years.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK or DON'T POST

The guy who said JaMarcus Russell doesn't have proven game ability is an absolute moron. He has 3 years experience in the SEC with a difficult schedule, which is better than Quinn's schedule which lacks a big wins and bowl wins
