If one doesn't work towards accomplishments and rides on the coat tail of others to get places (easy ride) then if/when there is hardship the person has no clue how to deal with it and thus becomes a floundering fish out of water.

Enlightenment and revelation...both are things that one has to seek out and discover, understand and then accept or deny based on their discoveries. No one can or should tell or expect another to gain either of these two things without doing their own homework and pursuit. Otherwise, they never really get it except through the eyes of someone else which of course doesn't reflect themselves. No one really learns without experiencing the journey.

Well, this is a very general philosophical question....

Ultimately, we live to be happy and feel fulfilled. So, how do we get these feelings? Let's say you do get an easy ride in the world. The silver spoon in your mouth the day you were born, and you get everything you want. Do you think life would necessarily be better than someone who had to work for their share of the pie?

Although for people in the working class, the answer is yes. But I don't believe it. As there are plenty of people with more money than I have, but aren't really any happier than I am. I think if accomplishments did come easy, and it felt like an easy ride, you will not be fulfilled or happy. Because you are not challenged, the success does not taste as sweet. In fact, you will even become bored, because if you succeed all the time, you'd want to start failing.

Often times, I think the purpose of life is not about answers, solutions or the final product because those only carry a short moment of fulfillment. The legacy is in the journey you take to reach those answers. That's were everything is interesting and the stuff of stories. If you watched or read 'Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy', they asked 'What is the meaning to life, universe and everything? And was disappointed to hear the answer was '42'. Are the characters disappointed because this seemed ridiculous, or are they disappointed because that was WAY to easy to answer the question that humanity still can't figure out.

Well, that's just it. If we achieved these things so easily, there'd really be no point in us being here. At least, not in my view. I'm sure each of us ponder on why we're here, and in my way of looking at things, we're here to achieve exactly that. We learn and develop, etc., etc. If all of this came naturally, then there really wouldn't be a point to being here.

And why does the world owe any of us an easy ride? Are you talking about 'world' as in other people? Or the 'world' as in a spiritual sense? Either way, I believe it's something we have to earn, and yes, I must say, it does seem to come easier to others than some, but perhaps that's due to something we have yet to find out about. Maybe a past life, or they just get lucky making a certain choice, or a really, really benevolent guardian angel. :P Who knows? In any case, I just do the best I can, with what I have. I know there are millions of people worse off than I am, so I'm not going to complain with what I have.

Interested in opinion, argument, or answer? Lets Ponder. In the world it seems to me you basically get who you are.If you happen to be at least en;ightened about your self your chances of being on a path of integrity are good. If you happen to be on a path of integrity then accomplishment well flow into your life easily. If the Path Of Integrity is'nt accomplishment enough. The positive way you will come to see your world will bring more substance or revelation that will compound upon that positive or easy ride you'll be on.I would say it starts with personal enlightenment though. Be ok to sit quietly with you self. You can then sit quietly with another. Get to know your self so you can introduce him to others. Everything is easy, Everthing is hard. Its up to us to pick. Don't want, have. Cool question. I appreciate it.

its a tough world. I have a motto, call their bluff and roll with the punches. No, the world doesn't owe me an easy ride, the world owes me nothing. I owe the world and I work to pay it back by being a law abiding citizen and appreciating the laws and why we have laws. I'm not a complainer, and I respect the s.w.a.t. team in my hometown city of anaheim, those fellas don't mess around, and the world keeps spinning. I've had a rough ride but that's okay because I was born to be nothin but a cowboy cause I'm from the wild wild west, heeeee haw!!!!!!

Source(s): I grew up with the constitution papers next to my baby bottle, and though I couldn't read back then, little by little I did, and I love america, and america only owes you as much as you put out. I love America and there is no other place like this place and it is my home till death. Thank you sir.

No. If it came easy how would you every appreciate it. I don't feel like the world owes me anything. I work for what I've got. Enlightenment and revelation happens when you least expect it and often when you're not looking for it.

    Atleast that's my opinion anyway.

Some things are an easy ride and some things aren't. You could accomplish getting $10k through the lottery or saving for years. The big thing is deciding whether or not the goal is worth taking the rough road.

I just asked a question about Atheism... an alternate belief I am seriously contemplating is that we all make our own way forward on the spiritual path. It cannot just be coincidence that even high profile wealthy people have sets of problems to solve... Maybe we are ALL God.....I would love a revelation but haven't had one yet!! we have to work towards enlightenment, many followers say, but are they deluding themselves... in other words there are more questions than answers but Happiness to you on your own quest!! :)

The world doesn't owe you an easy ride, but at the same time, people take that to mean that they can attempt to make your life as hard as they want to.

No. No. What about it? The world doesnt owe you that either.

Read for fun. Thats enlightening and revealing. Or I guess you could smoke some dope or something.
