Has anyone been successful breast feeding with nipple piercings?
I am told that I can, and won't have to remove them, just curious if any one else has done so.

You won't be able to breast feed properly with those piercings in your nipples. Think about it, how is the baby going to latch on?

Ouch... I think that would be very painful.. I tried to nurse my first child, with no success, and when they latch, they latch and hard... You should remove the piercing because it might choke the baby.. I don't care how tight it is and that it can't come out, because it just might.. Ouch

i wouldntthink of them as coming loose in babies mouth ...as i understand it those things are on pretty good....but i do think it will inhibit a good and proper latch for baby...especially at first, an older baby ...i would say sure...but those first few weeks, i just dont think a piercing will fit into their mouth.
When a baby latches on, they draw the nipple into the back of their mouth.

Absolutly you can breastfeed. It would be a good idea to go ahead and remove them though. They are definantly a choking hazard.
Here is a really informative article.

You should defiantly take out the piercing! That is a chocking hazard. Rather be safe than sorry!

Did your doctor tell you that you didn't have to remove them? Babies suck pretty hard and I would think it would be possible for them to accidentally get loose and your baby choke on them.

no not really...i would probobly just take them out and let ure nipple.. heal shut and maybe breast feeding will be better.

Who would tell you that it would be OK???
Why would you even want to????
Take it out, even if you make sure to tighten it, it could still come loose in the babies mouth. Use common sense.

i honestly would not recommend it suck it up and take them out safer for your baby and breastfeeding is irritating as it is especially with something else there
Source(s): years as a surface piercing specialist and tattoo artist also i have know many who have Brest fed both ways the ones with the piercing hated it the ones without or had took it out though it was less painful and safer
