which dress should i get for formal?

ok, well my sorority is having our formal soon and i have to wear white since this is my first year in, and it's sort of a tradition for the new girls to wear white. i have two dresses picked out that are my options.

1. http://sc7img.dillards.com/zoomImage.jsp?zoomDomai...

and

2. http://s7.sears.com/is/image/Sears/031A0072000

i know the second picture is kind of hard to see but it has gold and aredecent glittery patterns on the mesh overlay.

so which dress do you think i should go with? the first one is very cute and stylish but the second is very formal. i just want opinions. thank you!

Update:

lol, actually im not going to a high school party seeing as im 20 and sororities are in college. but thats ok! thanks for the advice anyway.

Well I really like the first dress it's so fun and flirty looking. And I think with the right accessories like maybe a wrap or a shrug you could make it appear more formal. The second one of course is far more formal looking, but at the same time it does look a tad more "prom-ish", but I think you could pull it off. Style isn't so much what you wear it's how you wear it. If you choose the second dress just be confident, stand up straight, accessories, great shoes, fab. jewelry, etc. Just because it's a long dress doesn't mean it has to be frumpy and dull! Another option is ask a few of the other girls going what style of dress they are wearing, if it seems they are wearing short, stylish dresses go with the first, if they say longer formals go with the second. Also ask the older girls in the sorority what they would consider. Either way both dresses are cute and fun for their different reasons, just wear your choice and have a blast! Have a great time!!!

The first dress is great! for a couple of reasons first your a neo and it kind of reflects that, its classic and edgy at the same time, its young, fresh. The neckline supports breast so it will be easier to have fun in because it offers support and will increase the apperance of the bust which is figure flattering. Plus you are way more likely to wear it again as it could be dressed down. Plus the second dress kind of gives me a Junior prom feel. I think you would look great regardless, but the first dress is nothing short of stunning.

Have fun! and congrats on your crossing.

Definitely the first one. The second one kind of looks like a bridal gown. The first one is cute and playful, and still formal enough.

I like the first one, I think the short length says cute and sexy. It seems like it would be perfect for a sorority party!

Who ever said formal has to be a long dress.

First one is flattering, cheeky, white and you can wear it again.

Second one is too bridal looking for me.

    Good luck and have fun.

Well I think the second because its really cute! And formal too!!!

    the first one.

    it is cute and chic.

then second one looks uncomfortable and looks leik a bridesmaide gone bad.

youre going too a highschool dance,

    not a wedding.

definetly the first one. the second one looks like a sprinkle container got into a fight with a marshmellow.
