My Internet connection won't allow FTP addresses?

I shut down the Firewall and the problem still persisted so I turned it back on. I turned the computer off and unplugged my wireless router etc and tried and still the same problem. I tried having my XP diagnose problem and it stated that the internet connection was good but FTP sites would not work...Any advice on getting my internet back up to par?

Thanks in advance!

first try this to get your internet ecplorer working normal first

    1)Tools>Internet Options>Programs Tab>Reset Web Settings

    1)Tools>Internet Options>Advanced Tab>Restore Defaults

then, check whether the site you are trying to enter supports ftp remote server. If it doesn't configure your web server or the ftp server you are trying to enter whether has installed Apache Habdler or SQL Server.

    Hope this help.

most FTP uses ports: 20 and 21

Make sure these ports are open in your router.

portforward.com is a great site for information
