Does anyone remember the retro live action Disney movies?

For example, Now You See Him Now You Don't or the original Freaky Friday, among others. Why do they not make good movies like that anymore? The ones from back then were so well done and creative compared to what they produce today.

Update:

The Apple Dumpling Gang was comedy at its best.

I grew up watching the Apple Dumpling Gang movies ... That Darned Cat ... The Ugly Daschund ... Darby O'Gill and the Little People ... gosh so many good, old movies.

I'm not sure why they don't make them like that anymore. I suppose it's just a generational thing. If you asked our kids, they would wonder why in the world we watched something as silly as The Incredible Mr. Limpet.

Here's a link to the Disney Live Action Movie site ... unfortunately they list "Hanna Montana" in the same grouping as Pollyana. Go figure ...

Because kids now wouldn't be interested. I tried to get my kid to watch the peanuts holiday specials and how the Grinch stole Christmas. And he couldn't handle it. Let alone the old school shows like apple dumpling gang or the little rascals.

i know what you mean!!! i agree. all of the movies are so predictable and all a like! also, whats with all the sequels? i loved original unique stories that are creative, not ones you sit there and go "this is whats gonna happen next!"
