After this pet food recall, how high of a quality do you think the expensive food really is?

I feed all 9 (4 dogs, 5 cats) of my animals Nutro products. They are very expensive and I always believed with pet food that you do get what you pay for. So why is it that Nutro products are lumped up in this manufacturers list of foods with crap foods such as Ol'Roy. Does it mean that the quality of these foods are similar/same, or is just a certain portion of these foods manufactured by Menu Foods? I have sent an email to Nutro asking the same question and am awaiting a reply, but I was just wondering if anyone else had any answers or thoughts to this question.

I like your question, I sometimes think that too, only with band instruments! To me it depends on two things, the price, and wheter you (or animals!) like it. If they don't eat it I woulden't buy it! My family bought Bill Jack for a while then we switched to a Brand that we could get at Publix, since we coulden't always get to Petsmart when our puppies food was low. She likes it all the same. I hope that you think this is helpful, and Good Luck!

I work at a farm store that sells Nutro food. We got a notice today from our headquarters, it is not NUTRO that is messing up on the food, it's the people who pack the food. Its still a good product that they are making.

The only thing I know...they (Menu Foods) started buying gluten from a different manufacturer...which is in all their different brands...higher quality brands and lower quality brands...they are researching to see if this is the culprit.

It was my understanding that it wasn't the manufacturer of the foods, but a single ingredient that all the companies happened to buy from the same supplier was tainted. That doesn't mean that they all buy all their ingredients from the same suppliers...one was enough.
