Has anyone here seen Mulholland Dr?

If so, did you understand it after your first viewing? I get the story now because I read an FAQ online, but man, after I finished the movie I had no idea what I had just watched.

No, its cult status is the result of two mind-blowingly hot women in a lesbian scene. :-))

    That movie is a sham.

It was cobbled together from a blown script of a failed TV pilot.

Lynch was just trying to make lemonade with a lemon, and succeeded!

I've only seen it once, and it was the day it came out in the theater, so that was a long time ago.

I remember being really confused when I first left the theater, but after thinking about it a lot for a few days I think I got the jist. I've never really read anyone else's take on it because I'm fine with whatever interpretation I've come up with in my head. But yeah, pretty confusing because there's just SO MUCH going on.

I think David Lynch is just one of those filmmakers you have to give credit to for the art of the film, and not over analyze the meanings behind his works too much.

To promote his new movie, Inland Empire, he sat on a lawn chair at the corner of Sunset & LaBrea in LA with a cow and a big picture of Laura Dern (who's in the movie) with the words "for your consideration" written across it. Nothing else.

He's strange guy, and I love him for it.

No, I confess I had to read the FAQ myself. Perhaps had I had the patience to watch the film again, I might have figured it out, but I couldn't wait. So I went online and read some of the theories. And then I was like, "Ah, so THAT'S what it all means!". Lol. Great movie.
