Is Oprah a racist?
When Oprah opened her school for girls in Africa, she was asked a question that she wasn't prepared to answer. The question was, "Why don't I see any white girls?" Her response was with distain on her face was, "Oh,.....I don't care about no white girls." It is obvious that this was not an answer that she really wanted to make, and I have not seen it again but just the live feed and that was it one time. I found this very disconcerting, the school that she built was not only with her dollars but with dollars from the angel network also, and a lot of them are White, Asian, Indian dollars as well. In this day and age we don't need wedges between races, ethnicity, or religions, we are going to have to band together as never before, if we are to defend ourselves againt the enemies that have vowed to kill us. You don't have to take my word for it just google it and then you will understand.
Telling me to pull my head out of my butt doesn't answer anything but just tells us that you are in agreement with her on this issue, Wake up children of all colors and orphaned need help and aren't rich and living the life of ease. Poor, any race is just as poor. You need to read more and see what is going on in Africa today, you will feel good to see homes taken away from a bunch of white families that have lived on those farms for many many years. If you feel like this is great then I would be correct to think that you would be for my people to take over all the property in this country after all you blacks and whites came here and took our land and put us on very small patches of dirt and told us that we were savages, wake up and get a life. This is 2007 and we need to be one people not divided
answer to the question, I publish a weekly new letter and I don't make the news I just comment on it. I did see this with my eyes and no I don't say it unless it is so. Feel free to see if this comes up on Urban legends

I don't think Oprah's racist. The white girls in Africa are afforded more opportunities than the blacks. And, the black girls who are benefiting from Oprah's generosity are usually the ones who have been victimized from wars one way or another.
I think my biggest opposition to the whole subject is, that there are plenty of young black girls here in America that would have appreciated the same generosity.
Building a school here in the states for our own would have been cheaper and would have been an asset for the country as a whole (many of those girls would have grown up to contribute to the betterment of "this" country.)
I say; "Hey! You powerful and wealthy celebrities, take care of HOME first!"
You guys/gals are as bad as our government--quick to take care of everyone else and forget about those here at home.

Is Oprah a racist for saying she doesn't care about white girls? Maybe so. Maybe she's prejudiced, although many of her friend are white so i'm not sure how she could really be prejudiced against whites. Who really cares about Oprah, anyway. She's one black person with money. So what. It will not be Oprah, but us, who will have to fix the racial tide that's been crashing against us for centuries.
Just worry about you and your actions. You can't worry about everyone else. It starts with you. Lead by example and screw Oprah.

I've noticed this a long time ago, although, she does hide it quite well.
It's true, there are far too many African etc ... children out there, that don't have access to a proper education, but, there are far too many Caucasian/Asian children that are denied a proper education as well. Oprah has purposely chosen to ignore these children.
When watching Oprah's talk show, take careful note of how Oprah greets her Caucasian guests in comparison to her African American guests. It may be hard to see at first ... but, like I said ... she disguises it well. :(

Did you really see this "live feed" with your own eyes? I don't think so. This incident sounds like a fabricated urban legend in the making.
I am skeptical because of the phrasing of Oprah's quote "I don't care about no white girls". She is a very well spoken person with decades journalism experience and I doubt she would use a double negative no matter her level of preparedness.

White girls are not lacking schooling in Africa. Oprah helps those people who she feels are in the most need. It just so happens that the most impoverished people in Africa are black Africans, so I would have to agree with her.
By the way, Oprah Winfrey is not an elected official, and has no responsibility whatsoever to support any agenda but her own. She was a poor black girl, and she wants to help other poor black girls. Isn't it enough that she is willing to spend her time and money helping people? Do we have to criticize her choices, too? So what if she doesn't care about white girls in Africa (I'm sure she would rather have said that she wasn't concerned about white girls.) Her cause is black girls in Africa. She isn't required to care about anybody but herself.
This kind of criticism is what undermines progress. If anyone publicly supports a cause, they are liable to be accused of excluding other causes based on racism. If someone donates money to orphanages in China, they may be accused of ignoring orphanages in India.
The Angel network contributors know exactly which causes their money is going to support. Oprah started the Angel network to gain funding for her projects, and people who contribute to it are aware of it. You don't have to contribute.

In south Africa white girls have education as they belong to the ruling class. I mean its like being mad at her opening a school in Compton and not in Beverly Hills!!!
Pull it out you butt man. You obviously didn't read HISTORY OF SOUTH AFRICA before writing this.
BUT if whites were economically as disadvantage as the blacks then OF COURSE let them in. What about the boys though...black boys are becoming less and less seen in our world. We need them too you know!!!!
