Depends on the type of bugs...
ants-mix liquid dish detergent with bleach. Spray around outside of your house and along windowsills and baseboards. Make sure to wipe counters down with bleach as well.
roaches-I agree with the borax acid. but becareful it is still an acid.
spiders-we have been told you cannot spray or anything else for spiders by a professional. He said the best thing to do for spiders is to vaccuum frequently. We also put moth balls out to keep snakes and things away.
Good luck!

First of all, don't buy the electronic devices made to repel bugs. Consumer Reports reported that they do absolutely nothing. My wife didn't believe them...so she bought a couple...and, of course, proved Consumer Reports right! Anyway, if you don't have small children or animals OR if you do have small children and animals but have places they can't get to....try glued mouse traps. I keep them all over the basement and garage and you can put them under appliances, behind furniture, etc. They collect spiders and other bugs faster than you can believe!

Boric acid (borax). It's relatively benign, cheap, and it works. I used it to take care of a flea problem I had in the past. You can find it in the laundry detergent section of any major supermarket.

They have these things that you can plug in the outlet that sends out a current that repels bugs. Try Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. for something like that. We've had success with them.
