unless it says "whole grain" or "whole wheat", no. So doesn't look like it. Sorry!

It sounds like it to me. Why not go back to Winn-Dixie and ask them about their whole wheat flour - "could you see the labels because you are concerned?" I would bet the flour is whole wheat color and has those words on the label of the flour sacks. I don't believe they would risk getting into trouble for false advertising just so they can make a few cents more on a loaf of bread.

I think that whole wheat bread needs to say "whole wheat flour" in the ingredients, but I'm not sure. If it has lots of fiber in it (3 grams or more per serving) it's probably whole wheat.

I know Winn Dixie very well because I used to live in Ft. Pierce, Fl. and I have eaten their bread. I wasn't crazy about it because of it's texture and taste. But, I get your meaning and they're probably thinking that they don't use any other ingredient as far as grains go. But they do have to make the dough edible.

No. "Wheat bread" is made from wheat flour, but not necessarily 100% whole wheat flour. It would say so if it was.
Whole wheat flour is made from the entire wheat berry.

' Yeah, but ' ... that kind of thing. It's whole wheat but there's some degree of processing. The best place is usually at a whole foods/ health food store. They can't afford to keep it on hand long.

No it isn't. It has to read 'whole grain wheat' in the ingredents to be whole wheat.
