How do you get rid of yellow-bellied sap-suckers?
We have a problem with a woodpecker tapping out a nest in the eves of our house. Not only is the noise a problem but he has been pulling out bits of insulation as well. We live in Oregon and I don't believe there is any law against killing it but a more kinder way of prevention would be nice and killing it wont prevent another from occupying the same space.

Hi I would use an owl decoy
you get them at a hardware store .
They are cheap you just hang one or two of them
and most birds will pack up and leave
hope this helps

have you tried asking it politely?
i was out at a tree farm today talking about sap suckers - this guy told me he put pie tins (aluminum, cheap) all over the place and that did the trick. (light and noise = they didn't like it.)
