do birds eat dog food, and is it bad for them?

All birds are like 2 year olds. If it will fit in their mouth they'll eat it. Some birds will snack on other animal's food if it's out. If it's hard dog food it shouldn't hurt it. Wet food is bad. As for being unhealthy in general, I wouldn't reccoment letting your bird eat it. Give them what the pet store has for birds. It's made for them and balanced for what their bodies need.

My parrot has came down to the floor and went straight to the dogs food bowl (6 chihuahuas) for the last two days and she chases the dogs off until she is finished I m more worried about the chihuahuas then the parrot. Ill have to find a way to keep her in her cage she is an escape artist. She has a good parrot food and treats as well as all the fruit, peanut butter, tortillas, crackers, noodls other then chocolate avocado or meat she has tried so I guess she wants to eat it. dogs get into the cat food often. So I guess if it is ocassionaly it wont hurt her but not good for her.

It is not really good for them .... a good mixture of pellet and seed with fresh fruits and vegetables is the best diet.
