Cancer: lumps essential, or is pain enough?

Your friend has a lot of symptoms that could be either related to a single problem or more than one. To answer your question: cancer may be first diagnosed based upon pain rather than necessarily identifying a lump.

To put all the symptoms into one diagnosis could be cancer but also may be other conditions, such as a pituitary or thyroid disorder, or some disease involving GI absorption, immune system or metabolism.

Without knowing any other medical history, it sounds definitely concerning to me but not necessarily like cancer. Seeing a doctor to learn more about these symptoms and being examined possibly with some blood tests/imaging sound like the best approach for her. Your friend needs to be examined by a doctor. That is the only way anyone can tell . . and than your friend would need diagnostic tests to rule out other diseases. She should not wait at all.

You should know though that cancer is often asymptomatic until the very advanced stages. If anyone ever suspects cancer they should see a doctor immediately. If you wait even one month it may be too long. My son was diagnosed at 17 years old with stage IV abdominal sarcoma. He had no symptoms until a few weeks before diagnosis and in fact, was playing high school basketball at the time. There was no warning.

Your friend needs to be seen as soon as possible.

You know one of the things that p****s me off most about Cancer? (being a Ca patient myself)....it's a sneaky rotten thief. What I mean is, a person might not have any symptoms at all, and in fact be very ill, or on the other hand could be in lots of distress, with a much better prognosis. The bottom line is of course that only the MD's can "confirm or deny". Nobody can diagnose your friend over the computer. A trip to the Doc is in order. Feel Better!

Why has she waited so long, Damage control is important. She may have caused herself permanent damage. No It doesn't sound like cervical cancer. She needs to have more details. Get her to a hospital asap, a general doctor can't help her at this point.

Going to the Doctors is the fine factor. She will mostly desire a breast ultrasound and Diagnostic mammogram. The radiology record shall be ready to inform if its a nodule or cast cyst. In the imply time i might suggest she shrink her caffeine consumption ( caffeine motives fibrocystic breast) no underwire bra's.

Very generalised symptoms, it could be so many things. She needs to see a doctor in order to get a proper diagnosis.
