If it's family or a friend don't charge anything. Perhaps they can return the favor sometime later with something you may need help with?

There was a really cool movie that came out a while back something about "pass it on" where a little boy helped out someone else and it just caught on to other people.

By the way, it's likely that once they get connected, they could end up having more technical questions too.

It depends on whether you do just software or hardware or both. I would assume that the ATT technician does the basic hardware connection and that the customer needs software follow up. I myself would charge a minimum of $150 to drive my vehicle out to their location and spend 2 or 3 hours getting them up and running.

Charge your costs plus 10% plus whatever your time is worth. How much are you worth, anyway? Remember this:

People will not value your efforts if you do not value yourself. When something has a high price people think it's better. So, be brave and value your time highly!

Source(s): Personal experience. In my work, the more I charge, the more people value what I do and they brag me up to their friends!

A soda and a bag of chips. It is not very complicated to do the instillation.
