lost ticket plus suspended driver license?

let's say I lost one ticket long time ago, and I got informed from my future employer my drivers licence is suspended now. I want to find out how much I have to pay for unpaid ticket and pay it, but is this all I have to do? - or maybe there is more like I will have to go to the court or even to jail? Do any one know what to do? Besides how high is a fine for driving with suspended drivers licence?

Update:

.... wht kind of warrant? damm it my poor *** :(

Your fine has more than doubled by now, probably in the $300+ range, due to failure to appear. If you continue to ignore it, you'll get hounded by collectors, and perhaps, depending on your locality, even face a warrant.

The simplest way is to call your local DMV and request which courthouse to address the question to, then call that courthouse (very limited working hours, typical) and ask the harried clerks to look up your case by SSN (as you don't know the ticket #) and how bad was it, and if possible, give them a debit card over the phone to pay it right then and there. They should punch it into the system and your DMV record will clear in 24-48 hours (business hours).

There is probably already a bench warrant issued for your arrest because you didn't show up to court for the ticket violation. Call the courthouse and ask them about it. Chances are, all you'll need to do is to pay a fine and court costs.

I suggest you do this asap as an officer who pulls you over and finds out you're driving on a suspended license and you have a warrant for "Failure To Appear" will be making very sure you appear for your next court date by putting you in jail until you go to court. Not to mention impounding your vehicle which means even MORE money to get it back.

My brother made this mistake once. He was thrown in the county lock-up for about 8 hours until his wife could come up with the $300,00 in bail. Plus $167.50 to get his car back. Then he had to return to court answer to the charges of driving with a suspended license. A fine for that plus the reinstatement fee for the suspended license... That single mistake cost him almost $1000.00...

You need to contact the DMV, they will tell you what tickets you have, the court you must pay them to, and how much they are. If you get pulled over while suspended, you will receive a ticket and if a warrant has been issued, you will go to jail. If you are unable to pay your fines and get your license back, you can apply for an occupational license, this will allow you to work, it only allows you to drive to and from work, if you are caught driving during another time, you will be ticketed for driving while suspended again, this time with a higher fine.

Dont' stress, it's probably not that bad.

I was pulled over and told my license had been suspended for a year and a half! Someone put me down as a witness to a crime, which I had no idea of. When I failed to appear in court for a case I didn't know existed, they suspended my license.

All I had to do was call the DMV, pay some court fee, and they reinstated my license.

first call the court house and give them your information. They can look it up and see how much is owed. I am sure there is interest and penalties as well. Do not drive. If you get pulled over then yes you are going to jail. Once your ticket is paid off depending on what county you live in they will reissue you your license or give you the paperwork showing paid and you might have to take it to the judge to show him and he will reinstate your license. If you had a court date and did not show up then you have a warrant. Again dont drive... if pulled over definetly dont drive. Look up the superior court in your county on line. Go to civil records / criminal records... do a name search, everything you have on your record will show. Look all the total case report and it will pull up if you have a warrent etc... Plus if you arrested on a friday or over the weekend you are stuck in jail until monday!!!

Well, since you didn't pay this ticket, your license got suspended. What you can do, you can go to the court clerk and find out what you can do about that. I doubt you can do any traffic school, but i suggest you ask.

It happened once to a friend, and he had to pay a bail, and go through this other process. He didn't get arrested though.

You are facing two charges now, the one for driving without a license and one for failure to appear at your court hearing.

The amount of the fine is up to the judge but there is a ceiling.

But, the judge might give you jail time.

I suggest that you hire a lawyer.

go to dmv. if u continue to drive on a suspended license count on losing your license for good. ask those who dont pay their tickets and fines and are scared when they get pulled over for some reason and the cops find they have a suspended license.

You'll be fine as long as you don't get pulled over. No more speeding until everything is settled...
