Unfortunately, I believe Filippinos are one ethnic
that does not immigrate much to eastern MA or R.I., although there are scatterings of individuals (after all, Cory Aquino had settled in Newton). I am unaware of a Philippine neighborhood. However, you may wish to contact a Philippine consulate, or the student housing department at a university (like BU) with a large foreign student percentage and inquire.
Whatever, I do not see why your lady friend needs to have a nearby community in order to feel comfortable. Isn't just visiting a new area - especially if one has a friend there with which one is staying - just plain enjoyable for most people?

Having moved here over three years ago, the closest thing to a Philippine community can be found on the college campuses in Cambridge and the only Philippine retail outlet in Mass, in Quincy (SurePinoy). When we visit relatives in NJ, we go to the grocery stores there to load up, although places like Super 88 and Kam Man carry a decent supply of Philippine cooking/baking ingredients, baked goods and snacks.
Filipinos are pretty scattered around here. You won't find them in just one place, unlike other US metro areas. But that doesn't mean networks don't exist. There's a Central Mass Filipino American Association. I haven't been active, but you might want to contact them for pointers. Good luck.
