There are a number of different waxes and shines out there for cars. The most important thing to remember when you go to shine up your car is to make sure not to Cross brands. If you have turtle wax car shine stick with turtle wax products. Crossing brands often damages the paint and starts to dull the look. The other important thing is to NEVER EVER wax a car while it is HOT. Move the car in doors to where it does not have direct sun light. I have seen gorgeous paint job destroyed because it was being shined up in direct sun light. A good rule of thumb to remember is to wax no more then 2 times and seal it once. The sealant extends the length of time between waxes. If your looking for the still wet look there are pre-shines you can get that will offer this type of look. You apply that first, buff it out too the look you want and then wax and seal. When it looks like it is ready for another shine use a good rubbing compound to remove the old wax. Then follow the process again. Be sure to wash and dry the car prior to the pre-wax and after you use the rubbing compound. This helps to make sure you get the deepest color out of your paint. Hope this helps and I hope I did not miss anything with you question.

You get the shine from the prep prior to wax. Wash, clay, polish then wax. You can wax car once every 2-3 months and just use a quick detail spray or spray wax to maintain the the just-waxed look after a wash. Sealants are what synthetic waxes are called or waxes with little to no carnauba content. I "layer" my waxes for a deeper shine but no amount of layering will overcome bad prep for a wax job.

Not realy sure that you need to use sealant, but you should onyl wax your car in the spring and in the fall. The abrasives in the wax will wear down your paint over time if you continuasly keep applying it. And you will get spots where the paint will be completely rubbed though after a while. I would only do one coat each time also. you can apply it thick if you want, but it may just make more work in taking it off. Use a old tooth brush to get rid off extra wax in any cracks, or crevices. You may want to use a low speed buffer to apply the wax it will save you a little work.

there is not any user-friendly answer on your question. For me, i discovered that a mixture of issues works properly for me. I stay interior the northeast and stress a vehicle with summer season severe-overall performance tires on it, so I park the motor vehicle for the wintry climate months. I constantly wash the motor vehicle with vehicle wash, use a clay bar on it, then follow it up with a good high quality carnauba wax. This does a good activity holding the motor vehicle from the climate, however the solar's UV rays, factors in rainwater because of polution, tree sap, ineffective bugs, etc. will injury your paint at last. the ideal suggestion i'm going to provide is to do as much as you may to guard the paint... which ability, save it sparkling, save it waxed, and in case you propose to park the motor vehicle, park it in a storage and attempt to apply a vehicle cover as much as available. (So an instantaneous answer on your question is "definite", use the motor vehicle cover... Use it exterior to assist look after the exterior from UV rays, tree sap, etc and interior the storage to guard from dirt and dings.)
