Depends. If you think you are right and the world is wrong then that is a closed mind. If your religion works best for you, but you recognize the right others to have different views then you have an open mind.

God did not make us clones, but like snowflakes, each an individual here to walk their own path. If there were only one right religion, then God would allow only one to exist.

Og think opposite of strong religious belief not mere atheism but an evangelical atheism a la Richard Dawkins.

And Og believe those at the extremes, yes, have minds made up - but all other people are a puzzlement to Og. If Og want an idea in their mind Og must find way in or go knock on other door.

    Happy hunting.

Not necessarily. People who have found their faith in God are satisfied with what they have and do not feel the need to constantly explore all the other options. Atheists on the other hand know what they DO NOT believe but I have yet to have one tell me what he or she DOES believe and why. I can easily respect someone's convictions or beliefs even if they are different from mine but if they have no convictions other than to disrupt others, then they are of little value.

Closed minded atheists? Look it up again - it simply means someone who does not believe in a God, any God. They can believe in spiritualism and all sorts of faiths as long as there is no god!

It is no surprise then that this proves it is the Christians with closed minds because they are focused on one idea only and because they think anyone who does not believe as they do are against them!

I find it really strange that the open minded world strives to protect peoples rights to believe and worship what they want and the Christians constantly criticise and try to dictate to all who are non Christian!!

Not a very Christian trait is it?!!!

I guess that depends on your idea of being religious. I believe very strongly in God and the Bible. However I have learned of other Religions as well and know where I want my anchor. To believe in God you have to acknow;edge the Devil for he ias the opposing force to God on this earth. It can be but it can also be that a person has learned what they need to to make their decision.

It's not the belief... it is an inability to rationally discuss beliefs that indicates a closed mind.

Well most very, very religious people or Atheists are closed minded, because they constantly reference their holy texts when someone tries to talk to them about different ideas. Most very, very religious people have lost their faith completely and have simply become embodiments of their religion. So yes, it usually indicates a closed mind. Don't get them mixed up with the very very faithful though.

Yes. Clinging to strong beliefs without carefully examing them on a regular basis is closed-minded. On either side of the spectrum.

Actually, both states of consciousness are necessary in the spiritual growth of man. We all pass through one to the other in the course of our spiritual evolution, even if this sounds absurd. It is the truth, for the purpose of man on earth is for him to gain spiritual experience. This will necessarily include all in the range of human sentiments.

No. Not always. There are always exceptions to every rule. Having an open mind means willingness to explore other possibilities.
