Is this bioluminescence article bogus?
I have never heard of this information regarding red-nosed reindeers, and I think this article is bogus. Does anyone out there find the information in this article to be reputable? I believe that it was published in Nature.

It's a joke! Scientists have a sense of humor, believe it or not.

That was bogus. Also, no real science journal publishes fake articles for April Fool's Day. At least not on purpose :(
PS Discovery is a science news and culture magazine, they don't publish primary research.

Totally bogus. Please note that we are very close to April fools day. A lot of magazines, Discover being one of them, run a fake article every April.
I remember back in April 1996 Discover ran a story on newly discovered mole-like creatures living under the ice in Antarctica. They burrowed through the ice and hunted penguins in packs. They looked like moles with clothes-irons stuck to their foreheads. Have a good laugh and enjoy the humor of the article. Try to fool one of your gullible friends with it.
