We are opening a naturist gites business in Burgundy - good idea?

We are converting part of our house in Burgundy to have 2 gites. We have indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, fitness room. We are intending to let them as naturist accommodation to share the facilities of the house. Is this a good idea? Would you take such a holiday?

    Sounds wonderful, I'd come!

Some people on here are so up their arses about nudity, its the most natural thing in the world, its how we arrive for starters! As for the hygeine aspect, ffs grow up, real naturists are clean and healthy, probably much more so than thoise that sit clothed in artificial fibres in air conditioned offices all day, of course naturists know what to do about seating etc....get a grip, its a wonderful lifestyle

No, I would not take such a holiday. I would be concerned about hygiene problems. Everyone is not so clean about their person. I have seen disgusting types of foot fungus even in public pools and spas. I no longer go. I know of people that have contracted terrible foot fungus that never goes away. Also the fungus just does not have to be confined to foot area, if you know what I mean. Plus, if I did want to go to naturist spa, then I would go to a very large spa where one could get lost in the complex instead of a small house where the owners could remember my face even if I did change my name for the event. If you want to upgrade your house, then do so at your own expense. I would not try to get the money back from all of your expensive upgrades by setting up part of my house for the public to use the sausa, and fitness room etc. Also, I used to sell real estate. Upgrades such as pools, spas, and fitness rooms are normally not returned on the sale of the house in form of a higher asking price. These types of upgrades are taken at the risk of the present owner, yourself. There is no guarantee that a future buyer has the same exact taste. The better bets to upgrade are always the kitchen and the bath. A pool is always dangerous. I know of new buyers that filled in the pool with dirt. They thought of it as a burden to upkeep. If you want to enjoy a pool, sauna and fitness room, then enjoy it at your own cost! Don't expect the public or any future buyers of your property to go along with your wims.

In addition, it never pays to make such expensive upgrades to a house, as you have done, with the intent of getting the money returned via the public in a quasi type of at home business.

I hope that you are not offended. I am just offering constructive advice from my personal experience in the real estate business.

Anyway your upgrades sound fabulous for a private owner as yourself to enjoy. Enjoy your property with its new upgrades and have fun!

NO! The thought of sitting naked where another naked person has just sat! Surely you could pick all sorts!

You'd need to have plastic chairs so that you can keep cleaning and disinfecting them.
