No way. This is what I'm going through with my grandpa. He still believes in the politics from back then. But today, he sides with dems, even though he is very christian, sent all his kids (15) to private school (and complains that he paid public school taxes), and doesn't believe in gay marriage, abortion and the like.

I've studied most of the presidents of the 20th century. Pres. Truman's values were almost completely in line with what today's republican parties are....as were Franklin D. Roosevelt.

No. He was much too liberal. The political spectrum has changed. There used to be left wing/ right wing. Now, it is far right wing/neofacist.
