Is it good and right to take?
It is being offered freely, openly. Take what you need to find your way to Christ. I believe this to be True. It only becomes a sin, if you pervert and abuse what you've taken. Don't you agree?

You are contradicting yourself. Salvation is offered freely, yes. You don't have to take anything.
You don't take what you need. God gives it freely to you.
God finds you. That gentle prompting is His Spirit "knocking on your door."
God comes to you. All you have to do is accept.
The way you wrote your question, you are struggling to "find" Him. Perhaps you are struggling because your pride is keeping you from relenting to Him.
It's easy, really.
