I think you're referring to the passage in scripture about the "unpardonable sin", which is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. In this context, it means that a person would attribute the works of the Holy Spirit to the "powers" of Satan.

Do you remember when Jesus was healing people. And the leaders said that he was healing through "Beelzebub"? They were attributing his works, as if given the power by Satan.

So if one blasphemes the Holy Spirit, that is the ultimate sin. You cannot attribute the works of holiness to the "power" of Satan.

Theologically, there is only one way to blaspheme the Holy Spirit: by ascribing to Satan what the Holy Spirit has done. When a person, will full knowledge and understanding, rejects God's call to righteousness, the person has committed the unforgivable sin.

When one rejects God's call for repentance, the person is in effect saying that they know better than God. This is the very first sin to which Adam and Eve succumbed.

Scholars are divided as to whether it is possible for a person today to be able to commit the unforgivable sin. For example, doctrines such as Calvinism hold that God's call to redemptive grace is irresistible, so no one could actually blaspheme the Holy Spirit.

Since the holy spirit is the means which is used by God to reveal his truth to us, we receive understanding by means of God's blessings through it. Once we have that understanding of truth about a matter by means of holy spirit, we must hold on to the truth and never lie about it. That would be to blaspheme the holy spirit. For example, you learn from reading the Bible and prayer for holy spirit that Jesus Christ is God's son. You know it is true, yet you intentionally tell someone else that he is not. This is tantamount to attempting to murder this person spiritually and God will not forgive you if you do this.

I think it means to make fun of God and his works, mock what his word says.

But I often wonder if a non christian blaspheme the Holy Spirit and later on his life can he becomes a Christian can he ask for forgiveness and be forgiven of that sin? Or is that still unpardonable sin?

It is for those who already had personal experience with the Holy Spirit and blaspheme (reject to cooperate any further) later on.

It means to reject Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and you keep rejecting Him until you die...while you are alive you can say there is no Christ, but God can always change your heart and you can be saved...but once you die and you have blasphemed the holy spirit you will go to hell

To attribute to Satan, the works of the Holy Spirit. And to come to that place where you no longer want anything to do with God, even to the point of not having any remorse for your actions.

it means that you reject the work of the holy spirit in your life. It is the Holy Spirit that convinces you that you are a sinner, giving you the chance to accept Christ in your life. If you reject it, you will die in your sins.

the holy spirit is to guide us to Christ and to die with out ever accepting Christ is the unforgivable sin. now here is the contradiction. the bible also says that if any man call his brother racka(spelling sucks) he will never enter the kingdom of heaven. so that makes two but Christ only says one. if any body can answer this for me please email it to me
