For all of those who have asked this one, do you want to know the tattoo and piercing laws?

http://tattoojoy.com/tattoo_laws/index.php

This is the link to every state's individual piercing and tattoo laws.

Please, look up your state and be familiar with it before you go into a shop and give the artists a hard time.

Update:

That information that has no name put at the bottom of this question is incorrect.

Good information. Keep in mind that some of this may be outdated...same as with another site that lists regulations:

    http://www.spcp.org/legislative_information/index....

Also consider that many cities and counties have their own requirements such as Santa Clara County, CA.

Also, no-name...I grow tired of you posting this stuff, too - you are not a tattoo artist so you should not be giving healing directions. Most would disagree with some of what you are advising.

Edit notes to answer Joy - Broke put this up here because she knows first hand what shops go through with people trying to talk the shop owners into "exceptions" over age restrictions - we always get parents badgering us (they are the worst!) trying to get us to tattoo their under age children.

    oooo you go girl..thanks!

and also I included this info also:

    Fresh Tattoo

Take bandage off in 2 hours

Wash tattoo carefully with warm soapy water

    DO NOT SCRUB

Lightly pat the tattoo until dry…

    DO NOT RUB

Apply a very thin coat of bacitracin or aquaphor ointment 3 times a day for 3 to 5 days

Although re-bandaging a tattoo is not recommended, if covering the tattoo is necessary a sterile bandage or dressing should be used.

Be sure and wash the tattoo every night and morning…

    DO NOT SOAK

Avoid tattoo exposure to direct sunlight and refrain from swimming in fresh, salt or chlorinated water for at least 2 weeks.

    After External Healing

Tattoos heal quickly BUT fading can still be a problem

Apply hand lotion once a day until dryness stops

Vaseline Intensive Care, Lubriderm, Nivea, etc...

    Tanning fades tattoos

Always cover fully healed tattoo with sun block

    DO NOT RUIN YOUR INVESTMENT!!!

Well I guess we can close the tattoo forum now..lol....
