It goes into a satchel that belongs to the meter maid, then it goes into a bag in the city office, then it goes into a bank, where it goes into a safe, then it goes into a armored car, where it ends up at the federal reserve, from here Satan blesses it and uses it to wipe his cloven hoofs, from here it gets incinerated into ashes. Then the Federal reserve makes new money and the process starts all over!!!

Parking tickets usually go to the city Budget.

In the Coity of New York, the fines collected from parking tickets go to the Department of Finance. They in turn, give the money to the City as collected revenue.

upkeep of the lot? that doesn't really make sense though because there can't be THAT much maintenance. parking is expennnnsive

i'm sure it depends on where you're parking. at the airport, it probably just goes to upkeep of the whole airport. i'm not sure about at just a regular place like....a shopping center (atlantic station in atlanta, ga, for example) or what have you...
