3 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoWhat impact would National Healthcare have on American society?
I know a large number of people who are working at jobs they don’t necessarily like because that job gives healthcare benefits.
Who will take those jobs if healthcare is free?
Will we lose good workers to lesser positions because they don’t need benefits?
How many people will stop working entirely?
Benefits are a great incentive. What effects, large and small, will the loss of that incentive have on our overall economy, society, and culture?

9 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoWhat’s going on up in Canada, aye?
I watch and read news obsessively, and it wasn’t until I accidentally happened upon a Canadian AM radio station that I heard that anything was afoot. I know the bare basics about a bad economy, a coalition government and the suspension of parliament, but I want to know what is really going on.
What do the people think? Are they predominantly on the prime minister’s side?
What is behind this? Is it just a power grab?
Please, I’m looking for good information here.

I want to hear all the excuses. With so much noble blood having been spilled to give you the right and with so much spilling daily to protect that right, I just want to know why you fail to honor their sacrifice.

Religiosity aside, if a being of supernatural power approached you and offered to grant anything you wished, what would you wish for? You would die ten years later and go to a tormented afterlife for eternity, but the being would have the power to grant any wish.
Please, no answers of ‘nothing is worth it,’ I Don’t know’ or any religious objections. This question is meant to spark theoretical debate, not theological debate.
26 AnswersMythology & Folklore1 decade agoIs 230 years too long for American greatness?
(Re-posted for more feedback)
I have worked for companies both young and old and I have noticed that the policies and procedures of the older companies are more restrictive and decidedly cumbersome. I believe this is chiefly due to the fact that a company is forced to adopt new restrictions each time a problem is identified.
The longer a company is in business, the more problems they overcome in this manner. At some point, their procedures and policies become so numerous that few, if any employees know them all and begin acting and reacting to situations in the most neutral way possible to avoid a possible conflict with a policy that might be buried in there somewhere. A stronger or more decisive action that they would like to take is set aside due to a latent fear that company policy is more important than their individual achievements and contributions to the company and thus they would probably loose their position if they make the wrong move.

...Get people to read your yahoo 360 Blog without resorting to shameless tactics like this?
I was trying to say it in an unconventional way, but I am looking for serious ideas. I have been putting some work into it and few people have ever seen it. This is the second time I am posting this question. I didn’t get many replies last time.
I am doing an interesting thing with my blog, but I am having trouble attracting enough of a following to justify my efforts. If you like reading fiction stories, come and visit. I have an original, unpublished work of mine that I am dolling out chapter-by-chapter. This content doesn’t exist anywhere else, and I believe that it is a good story.
So, come and check it out. If you like it, spread the word. If you have comments or questions, please post them. Most of all, though, if you have any ideas of how I can attract a larger audience to my blog, please answer this question.

…or are other people getting this too?
I posted my last question, which pertained to my Yahoo 360 page, under the Yahoo Answers category by mistake. Now, when I pull up the question, it is listed under the Yahoo 360 category. Do they have the time to review and move your questions?

2 AnswersYahoo Profiles1 decade agoShouldn’t there be more incentive to vote/rank?
Would you vote for best answers and/or rank best answers more often if there was a daily 100 point raffle entry given each time you did? I mean one point gets you there, but too often I see questions stalemate because only two or three people voted, each for a different answer (probably the people who wrote the answer to begin with fishing for points). Would this or some other reasonable incentive change your habits? Ideas?
6 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWomen’s views only, please: Is this normal?
My wife, who I love more deeply than I can express, has this really frustrating trait. She will get an idea in her head that is simply wrong. She will react to situations as if this idea were true. This causes me to give the WTF response. She tells me what she was thinking, I explain to her that things just are not that way, and she and I agree that it was just a misunderstanding. All is well. For a day or two. She then begins to react as if her idea was true again.
In the way of a vague example:
She will become convinced that I did (X) because I think that she is (Y). I explain to her that I did (X) because of (Z), and, not only that, but I have never thought (Y) of her. We agree. All is said and done until two days later when she has a fit over some situation that vaguely resembles (X). I will ask her what wrong and she will say that she hates that I think (Y) of her.
Is this norma?
