If you care enough about a question to ask it, why don't you care enough to pick an answer?...?
And let every body know you found what your were looking for?
It doesn't make me angry, I just wonder if they got what they were looking for...
Becuase the purpose was to get an answer. It was not to let people know that they had gotten an answer, accumulate points, etc. Seems pretty simple.
mmm....yes and no, it's also supposed to be a sort of big library, where people who want to look for a topic can look at multiple resolved questions to find answers that fit thier question without having to join or ask a question....
I realize there are some times that there are too many good answers to choose from, and in that situation it definitely shoud go to a vote. But it just seems like alot of people ask, get people's opinions, then wander off. Sometimes I get best answer just because I was the only one to show up and vote, and honestly, I don't think that's right, and wonder what the asker would have picked. I vote on other questions I didn't leave an answer for as well, and notice that often people aren't voting on the answer that best fits, but the most smart aleck one, does that serve a purpose in an online library / database in helping others find what they are looking for?
I wonder why someone would delete the question if they got answers. The only reason I delete one, is if I don't get enough answers, and the ones I do get just don't apply...

Sometimes the best answer is best chosen by communal vote.
Sometimes I can't get to a computer at the right time. Most of the answers come within an hour on R&S, but you can't choose till four hours later.
Sometimes I can't decide between two or more good answers, or none of the answers hits the spot.
Mind you, I think I've almost always picked a best answer, because most answerers would like this, even if it's not theirs.
Valid question though, and one I've thought about heaps of times.

Most of the time I do.
But sometimes I think there are too many decent answers, so why not let others pick? Sometimes it interests me to know what somebody else thinks is 'Best'.
And sometimes I want people's views, like my current question. If I think someone had explained theirs particularly well I may pick it as BA, but it isn't the sort of question where there is a 'right' or 'wrong' answer.

All they care about is getting their answer, after that a lot of people don't even come back until they have something else to ask.
What annoys me more are those people who get the answer they want THEN DELETE THE QUESTION

Well, I'd say that sometimes there's more than one best answer & it's hard to decide, so it's left up for voting

If something like that makes you that angry then maybe you should spend time doing something else Mr. top contributor. Its not normal to spend that much time doing this.

Oops! Thanks for the reminder, I need to choose a best answer from yesterday.
