I've been hanging out on this board for some time now, and there is something I'm curious about.

It seems that sometimes someone will often open a new account just to ask one question about a dream, and never use that account again. Sometimes I wonder why? Is it because dreams are so personal to us? Is it fear of finding out what a particular dream may say about you? Does using a different user id from the one that you usually use help you to feel like it is more confidential? Is it that a particular dream may pique your curiosity enough to want to ask about it, and that is just the only thing the poster wanted to know about? What do you guys think? I would especially like to hear some answers from the more experienced interpreters on the board if you have ever noticed this, or if you have any ideas why, but also if you are someone who has opened an alternate account just to ask about a particular dream as well, I am curious why you did it, if you used a new account just to ask about a particular dream, I won't know what account you used, or what the dream was about. Just wondering if anyone has ever noticed it, or has any thoughts on it. Thanks in advance for your answers.

I had a rather long and involved dream this morning. I forget most of it, but have retained 2 images to meditate on.

Image 1: I was in the backyard of (my?) house. As I looked over the back yard, I observed a doorway set into the Earth, near a wooden fence separating my yard from the yard next door. It didn't go into the house, as though to the basement, but to a separate structure inside the Earth. Something that was unusual about this door was that it had panes of glass in it, which is unusual in a doorway flat to the Earth, where people or things could fall through it. I guess in a sense it is a skylight allowing light to the structure underneath it. The door itself was set in a frame of concrete, and I knew that if I opened it, I would find concrete stairs leading into the Earth. The door was protected from weather and things falling from overhead by a small shed like roof. I did not open the door, only observed it in a "Hm, that's interesting, maybe I should look into that sometime" kind of way.

Image 2: I noticed my left hand itching, and held it up in front of my face. I saw spots where the skin on my palms started peeling away. The skin on my palm looked old, dirty, and dead. I started peeling away the skin with my right hand, and peeled all the skin off of my left palm to reveal fresh, new, smooth, pink skin. Then I noticed my right palm was in the same state as the left palm, and peeled the skin off of my right palm likewise. I also viewed this image in a "Hm, that's interesting" kind of way.

My attitude on awakening was rested, and fairly peaceful.

Please don't copy and paste dreammoods or dream book definitions, I would like to know what you think, not what dreammoods thinks.

It was a long dream, unfortunately, I can only recall this one scene from it. I was with a group of people, and saw a stream with a high bank behind a house. There was a wide spot in the stream, and I saw a bunch of hippos and elephants playing in the water there. I excitedly called to everyone to come see, there are elephants! So everybody came over to watch. Where the elephants and hippos were playing, the stream had widened out into a pool behind the house, kind of like the banks had been built up into a pool shape with the surrounding land. In the pool where the elephants and hippos were playing, the water had become muddy. Part of the bank / dam broke down. As water was flowing out through the broken part of the dam, it changed from muddy to clear, flowing in a stream out of the pool, down the bank, and into a nearby field. We were all excited to see elephants and hippos, they just showed up out of nowhere. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your answers...

I live in Maryland, and I swear I saw a Mountain Bluebird in my yard this spring, but as near as I have been able to find out they live farther out west as a rule. It definitely wasn't the typical Eastern Bluebird we usually see, it was blue all over, chest and all, I have never seen such a vivid blue bird before. It looked really similar to the Mountain Bluebird, so I was wondering if they ever wander off the path during migration, or maybe stop occasionally in these parts on their way to their normal habitat? If not a Mountain Bluebird, what other bird would match that description in the Potomac River region? If you have an idea for another bird it might have been, a link to a photo would be appreciated. I had a dream this morning, of being in a painted desert, full of beautiful views and vistas…the sky seemed to stretch on forever, the sky was colorful as well. I’m not sure if I was viewing a sunrise or sunset, the light kept changing, I was wandering in the desert for some time, the light changed while I was there, I may have seen a sunrise *and* a sunset during the course of the dream. At one point it was broad daylight. I was disturbed to see that there were McMansions being built. They were cheesy, pre-fab, slapped together. As the developer was constructing the houses, they put all the debris from the building process into garbage bags, and instead of taking the garbage away; they stuffed it into the house’s foundations. The houses were bad from the ground up; I saw two being built. They were blights on this beautiful wilderness. At some point I sat down on some rocks in a shady spot to rest my feet....

A close friend just sent me an email that her younger brother commited suicide within the last couple days, and the viewing is tomorrow. If one of your close family members commited suicide, apart from the obvious answers like praying for the family, and expressing sympathy,

I'm afraid to feed my kitties anymore, do you know if Whiskas is still safe? There are so many brands out there contaminated now, it's awful! My cats are doing alright on Whiskas so far, but there are more reports of tainted food every day, I have been thinking maybe I should cook for them for awhile until things straigten out? Do you cook for your kitties?

I will give you the Phelps clan as an example. We have the right to free speech, freedom of religion, and freedom to assemble peacefully. Does showing up at a funeral, and screaming at the mourners that the deceased is going to hell constitute a peaceful assembly? What about the mourners? Are they enjoying a right to peaceful assembly, or is it being interfered with? What about the mourner's rights to exercise thier own freedom of religion? Would it be free speech if the Phelp's were standing accross the street with signs saying that war is wrong, but not interfering with the service? Do our lawmakers need to do a better job of defining when it is free speech, and when it is intentional assault / harrassment /stalking? At what point does the line need to be drawn?

When it interferes with other's rights to peaceful assembly, or worship? When it can be shown that the interference is intentional, and purposely designed to interfere?

I have seen alot of posts on here, asking if the world is really going to end in 2012. What if it is? How would you live differently? Would you be angry, depressed, hopeful, joyful?

Would you take care of the world, or say what the heck, we're out of here soon anyway, and start littering? Would you pull your loved ones closer, or decide there is no point in being in a relationship knowing the whole thing will be over in 5 years?

How would this change if you thought there would be no afterlife, VS if you thought there would be an afterlife? Would you see it as a motivation to treat your fellow man better "just in case"?

Ok, well since we are in R&S, I will say it is because I consider marriage to be a sacred and holy thing. I have been hearing the phrase "starter husband/wife" going around lately, and they are even getting ready to premier a show by that name, so it must be some kind of trend? I knew my first marriage was in trouble when I started thinking of my spouse as my "first" spouse. But if anyone had even thought of suggesting I should think of it as a "starter" marriage before it even started, I would have been appalled! I am not familiar with "Sex in the city", but have gotten the impression it originated there. Anyone is welcome to answer, but I would be especially interested to hear from single people under 30. What's up with that, young uns? Do you think that people are getting married too young, or for the wrong reasons? Are spouses disposable? Is there really any good reason for this to happen in this day and age, and what do you think contributes to it, is marriage dead?
