John McCain's assertion on Bill Bennett's "Morning in America" show that "there are neighborhoods in Baghdad where you and I could walk through those neighborhoods today."

Karen Tumulty, a Time journalist  asked Brian Bennett, the TIME correspondent  who is in Baghdad at the moment, how it looks on that end. Here's his reply:

    I just spoke with XXXXXX, our Iraqi bureau manager, about where in Baghdad I could go for a walk. He said there was one neighborhood (I'm not telling -- why make it a target?). He said I could get out of the car with him and a couple of our Iraqi bodyguards and walk for about three blocks - -then we'd have to get back in the car before the cell phone calls to kidnappers caught up with us.

In other words, McCain is right. It's safe for a stroll -- if you take two bodyguards and wear your running shoes.

once again a liberal in need of a fact checker.  southern iraq is infact lots safer after the unification talks with the shite and sunni.  things are going better and havinig the top us official visit before wouldve been unheard of...LMFAO..does that upset the pelosi playbook to think we might be right.  just like rats off of a sinking ship, how soon liberal extremists forget hillary r and pre flip flop john edwards were for the liberation of iraq.  but i guess theyd rather have the al qaeda attacks here in the us with cut and run...tch tch tch...what a shame...

Another CNN genius at work......Many places in Iraq it is dangerous. I am in Baghdad right now and I wouldn't go out anywhere alone and I am the body guard! But in the north, I could live in town, eat, shop in the local economy without fear. In Kurdistan it is almost normal again. No bombs, kidnappings, or bullets flying. It is still 100% better than it was last year at this time. Don't believe everything you hear on the news, they don't give an accurate picture.

Sounds like any typical black neighborhood, if you're white.  And blacks call whites racist.  What a laugh.  We don't mug or kill them for walking in a white neighborhood.  All of this stuff is a laugh.  Generally speaking, people are sooooo STUPID....

But, I see what you are saying, regarding Iraq, and I absolutely agree with you.....
