have a child a t my daycare that says she was abused there?
i am a teacher at a daycare. we only have 10-12 kids on a busy day. the father of a three year old girl came in and saud she told him that she had someone put a "screw" in her possum(vagina). her father said this happened outside on the playground. she said a monster with orange hair and big black shoes did it. first of all we never leave the children unsupervised inside or out. and it is the owner, myself and two others that work there. we talked to her about the "monster" and she said he lived outside in a cage in the snow. we are in spring and the temp is 80. the little girl is new to our daycare. it has me worried that maybe something is going on at home because i know for a fact nothing has happened to her at the daycare. has anyone ever had a problem like this and what did you do about it? we have talked to our contact supervisor for our state and she gave us a website with info on stranger danger. and reported that we have contacted her on this matter.

In my state, you are supposed to report these instances to your supervisor, it sounds like you have. They are supposed to take care of it from there. I know that they usually report it to the Department of Children and Families.
This is a serious question and something I don't feel like second guessing on a forum like this. It could be anything from her imagination to something she saw or heard or in worse case something has really happened somewhere. In any case, someone should at least document her complaint and monitor her a bit.

Call child protective services. they should have someone trained in questioning children about sexual abuse. They how to ask questions and how to interpret their responses. My wife is a CPS worker trained in just that. Obviously the little girl has seen or heard something to make her say that or she has been abused. The CPS worker would be able to find out.

first of all, this little girl needs 2 b taught how 2 speak english, this is America, it is not against the law 2 speak english. This is 2007-the 21st century-the info age-the tech age of the world-America. There is a problem with your daycare facility, and the little girl's parents, if she can't explain n human behavior rather n some fantasy la-la behavior. The first thing I would do is to check if the little girl is on illegal drugs (remember this is th 21st century & crazy people do-give toddlers drugs!!-illegal drugs-any school environment is a haven 4 this type of activity-yes-preschool). Call the POLICE!! (the PO-PO??)
