Don't see how pro-gay, pro-abortion, and restricting the 2nd amendment = conservative but I don't know 1 Republican that will vote for him.

PS Ask the NY Fire Dept. their thoughts on Rudy.

I, like most republicans and people who are concerned with what their candidates actually have in their platform and have done in the past, are really not sure what to make of him because he made that statement (which was about 10 years ago) then more recently has said the opposite. It is possible that his views have changed over time and that he is truly moderate but he will have to firm up his platform moving forward. If you are the type of person who just votes based on your vague impressions of someone then since most of what people remember about Guliani are from 9/11 when he tried to be the voice of reason and provide direction for NY you would probably like him. To me the world has changed ALOT since 9/11 and everyone (dem rep whatever) needs to hear more from him before they make their decision in 2008.

I don't support Giuliani. I think the government should pay for birth control for those who cannot afford it, but not abortions.

Well he didn't say that, but more to the point the Republican Party is evolving. A majority of the party's members do not care about social engineering legislation any more. They're shifting more to a Libertarian perspective.

At this point, it is all about name recognition. I expect to see Giuliani drop as we get closer to real votes. I would consider supporting him because he is a proven leader under pressure & is tough on foreign policy. I'm bothered by some of his personal baggage though.
