How many G's in RPM??
I want to convert RPM to x g
eg 1500 rpm = ?? x g
Sorry if there's confusion - I wasn't sure what topic to put this under!! I'm talking in terms of a centrifuge. When I use them I always set them to RPM. I think 14,100 RPM = ~ 8000 x g but I am not positive

To convert to g's, you need to know how fast an object is spinning and what the radius is. An ant sitting near the middle of a spinning disk will experience a lower acceleration than one near the rim. So, if you want more of a thrill at an amusement park, sit on the outside of any ride that spins.
The formula for angular acceleration of a spinning object is
A = w^2 * R
where w is the rotation rate in units of radians/time and R is the radius. The answer will be in units of lenght/time^2, the same units as G. So, divide A by G to convert to 'g's
A (in g's) = [RPM (rotations / minute) * 2 * pi (radians/rotation) / 1/60 (minutes/second) ] ^ 2 * R (ft) / G_standard
Where G_Standard = 32.17 ft/sec^2

interesting question as I cannot see how it is possible but love to see it answered. since g=gravity which is a force of attraction and RPM= revolutions per minute of rotation! is there part of a question we have left out? for example if we note force of gravity an apply that force to a lever with gears to a crank we can then achieve for a Time rotation. so get a gravity to RPM equation.

You have to know the radius of rotation in order to calculate the g's from rpm.
