If God was a positive deity instead of a negative one, what would the 10 Commandments be?

1. Respect and Love your neighbor as your self.

2. Thou shall keep the planet clean.

3. Thou shall have transparent leadership.

4. Sex shall be enjoyed between consenting persons.

5. The fruits of the earth shall be enjoyed by those who wish to partake of them.

6. Thou shall welcome creatures from other planets with an open mind and heart.

7. Birthcontrol should be freely available to the masses of the world.

8. Thou shall pee in a toilet and instead of in the pool.

9. Smaller weaker creatures will be protected against bigger aggressors..

10. People will avoid using any religion to furthur political aims.

You question implies that God is a negative deity, therefore it would follow that His 10 commandments are negative too.

So if God were to be a a positive deity, according to your theory- His 10 commandments would have to be opposite of what they are now too. Right? Therefore, these would be the new 10 commandments, the DO's instead of the DO NOT's:

1. You shall have any other gods before me.

2. Do make for yourselves graven images.

3. Do take the name of your god in vain.

4. Do forget the Sabbath day, keep it unholy.

5. Do dishonor your father and mother.

6. You shall murder.

7. You shall commit adultery.

8. You shall steal.

9. You shall bear false witness against your neighbor.

10. You shall covet your neighbors wife and possesions.

Like these better? Or did you want to do away with any god at all and let everyone pick their own commandments, or DO's, and have no DO NOT's at all? Personally, I wouldn't want to live in that world.

8. Be tolerant and understanding.

9. Be happy and health.

10. Enjoy yourself.

The niyamas from Yoga are to be contented, disciplined, studious, devoted and pure (which technically is a way of saying "observe the yamas" which are the negatives - don't steal, don't lie, don't be greedy, etc).

Thou shalt send your excess to the needy

Thou shalt let your neighbour borrow your lawnmower

Thou shalt try using diplomacy

If diplomacy doesn't work thou shalt use more diplomacy

If more diplomacy doesn't work thou shalt find a mediator

Thou shalt help others carry their groceries.
