We kind of need to know what you are running for, but just find a quote about your "field" and make sure it was said by somebody most 10th graders would know.

Worry more about what you are going to do for the students and the school if elected. If you have any background that qualifies you for your office or will give you understanding into the problems of others or the school or a particular group or class. . .Problem with elections these days is it is difficult to figure out exactly what the candidates stand for and then what they will truly do if they get elected. Promise those things that you can really change. When you have that down pat, google your ideas and see who or what has said or down something like it and you will get your quotes. And do try to make it entertaining. . .for those who really don't care but will vote. Lots of luck.

You want to make it as light as possible "I am ---(name)----- and I am running for the office of _________.-"

"I am all in favor of Free Speech, the 2nd Amendment, The right to Vote, and The right to choose my own ice cream flavor when I go into an Ice Cream Parlor on a date!!" -

Then conclude with this quote -

"Abraham Lincoln once said that it is better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool - then to open it and remove all doubt!"

In closing, I would like to say that I would appreciate your vote!

Thank you! And God Bless the 10th Grade!!!!

(Good Luck! This should have them really rocking in the aisles! - And I predict a Landslide!!!!!!!!!)

Talk about what your plans are for your school. And talk about what you would like to achieve as their newly elected official. I wouldn't pepper the speach up with a lot of fancy quotes. Voters want to hear what you have to offer.

More on-line classes, means less paper which means less dead trees, and less school time grading papers.
