What will I do to load my computer faster?

Through the use of the command "msconfig", what are services that I need to check and uncheck? can I just disable them all? Or any other advice about using the command "msconfig" or better guide me of how to use the different tabs in this command.

a few ways of speeding your start up, tap the delete key when your computer boots it will take you into the bios from there look for quick boot enable that and save and exit, next go to run type msconfig go to the start up tab and look for programmes you don't need when the computer loads IE: msn messenger, AOL, yahoo messenger and so on

You DO NOT want to disable services!!! That will mess the pc up badly. The only thing you should really do with msconfig would be on the startup tab where you can control what starts up with windows. The services tab will control a lot of important stuff and if you disable those, you will lose alot of functionality like your pc getting an ip address, resolving domain names, printing ability and so much more. I would stay out of the services tab!

You really need to know what those services are before disabling them. You can find out what services are not necessary by running your pc through the test at http://www.pcpitstop.com/ . It will give you a list of unneeded services that you can safely stop.

On your taskbar's system tray (the icons near the clock), right-click on each icon and check if they have a remove from tray check box or disable on start-up command you can check (usually in the options part).

Remove programs you don't need, defrag your computer regularly. If you have Norton, that's usually one of the culprits that slow down the computer. You can't remove it, though.

you really can't uncheck to much in msconfig - you should only uncheck programs which you know you won't be using very often and you are certain they won't screw your computer up if removed
