i own a shop, and i have used the programmable ecu,s before they work real good, but once you get it tuned in really good then you,ll see you might need a few other mods on it,but that's where id start from on it,then add whats needed to get it on up in power, but adding this is a good idea most people just go buy a whole lot of parts and throw them on and expect them to perform miracles, but adding the controller to it is a real good first move, good luck with it,hope this helps.

Typically you wont really notice too much of a difference with just a program tune. The manufacturer sets the program so lower grade fuel can be used. with the program only high grade fuel can be used, which will help alittle. a performance tune works much better after say intake and exhaust have been done. then you tune it to tie it all in together.

Depending on the car you can see 0-60hp from an upgraded ecu.

I chipped my car and it gave me a whopping 3 hp! $300=3hp... not worth it

Ive seen diesels that got 60hp from a chip.

once again, intake, headers, and exhaust and give you 0-30hp.

Its not uncommon to hear people who spent $2000 on an exhaust system for their s2000 and didnt get ANY hp. It depends on the car. Small displacment performance vehicles (srt4, s2000, ect) usually tap all the cheap power in the oem parts. You wont see any increased power until you start talking about expensive internals or forced induction.

so its impossible to say that you will get any increased power without know what kind of vehicle you own. I recommend you search for your cars online forum: example: http://www.vwvortex.com/ http://www.focusfanatics.com/ http://www.saturnfans.com/ http://www.mx-6.com/ http://www.rx7.com/ and find out what parts give people the most horsepower.
