This is not a good fight for Spinks. He's too small and he doesn't have the punching power to get Jermain's respect. His boxing ability and defensive southpaw style may keep him around for a few rounds, but Taylor's power will eventually catch him in the middle rounds and end the fight. Remember, Spinks was knocked out by Zab Judah, so i think it's safe to say a big Middleweight like Jermain can stop him. Taylor by KO in 7.

A money fight for Taylor to stay active while the Roy Jones Jr. negotiation takes place. Part of me is pulling for Cory Spinks to derail the myth of Taylor, but I think Cory is just to small, the size difference is going to make this one almost lopsided. I don't Spinks has the defensive tools to keep Taylor from steam rolling him, it's about as safe a fight as Taylor could have taken.

    Taylor by KO in 8.

IT looks that way but the Spinks Jinks never ceases to surprise me. They are always the underdog but have come out on top more than not when challenging for a title -- over the greats too -- Ali, Holmes, and Corey directly over Ricardo Mayorga and Roman Karmazin. But the undercard is the match I'm interested in.

Undefeated Kelly Pavlic verse Eddie Miranda -- either one of these fighters would take care of Spinks or Mora one would think anyhow. The winner should give Taylor a good fight and I hope the loser keeps a spot in the top 10. I think Mora should drop a few notches for refusing the fight against Taylor too as most fighters spend their whole careers hoping for that opportunity.

Jermain Taylors camp knows that he is real soon to losing a fight, I have seen about 5 of his last fights all of those fight were close, could have gone any way, and I did not see any thing to empress me. boxing is about politics who can hold the belt and make money. not about whos the best and who is more man cory is a joke how does he get a chance for a title. jermains camp want chumps, boxers should stand up and listen to the public jermain to me not the best boxer in the world fight miranda,or the guy that gave miranda his only lost,or calzage.

short answer yes! a good man always beats a good small man maybe spinks can run for a few rounds and jermain has regressed some but there is no way spinks can keep taylor off of him

Spinks is gonna get killed, I say Taylor knocks him out in 3 rounds. I saw a answer that said taylor vs jones jr. Thats another mismatch. taylor will hurt jones bad. Taylor is fast enough to hit roy, and he hits way harder than tarver or glen johnson.

taylor close the show? Are you freakin' kiddin me? He his the home town boy here and I'd have to say that he can do anything but close the show lately. His jab is what got him where he is. He is a Middleweight Larry Holmes without as much power lb/lb. His camp is promising a knock out this time so we'll see. He's getting beat to hell though and will probably end up like Terry Norris.

Spinks better be on his toes. Taylor hits hard and he knows how to close the show, should Spinks get staggered.

I agree. Thats a terrible fight. Definately a safe one for Taylor. He should be lucky when he fights Roy that hes not as fast as he once was.

you're right big time joke. taylor's opponents seem to be getting smaller and smaller. first winky wright then kasim ouma, and now blown up welterweight spinks maybe erik morales is next lol
