Many breads contain L-cysteine; a product made from animal and human hair. Is that sick enough for you? I do know more <evil grin>.
Edit:
Hey! Who gave me a thumbs down? Just for that...
Many/most fruit juices are made using animal enzymes to soften the fruit and increase the yield and clarity of the juice! Since the enzymes are 'burned up' during the production of the juice the makers don't have to list it.

Carmine (the coloring) is a nice one. :) I believe it's also known as Red 40 Lake (but I could be wrong, I no longer have the book), among other things. It's crushed Carmine (aka cochineal sp??) beetles. YUM. Yoplait strawberry yogurt, many Snapple drinks and many fruit snacks (which probably contain gelatin anyway) are all colored with this.

That lipstick you're dabbing on for tonight's big Valentine's date may have a bit more to it than meets the eye.
A Norwegian biotech company said on Thursday that it sees a booming business in providing cod sperm for use in cosmetics.
Maritex, among the world's largest producers of cod liver oil, said it aimed to produce seven tons of processed cod sperm in 2002 for the international makeup market after pilot output in 2001.
But don't worry that your loved one will think there's something fishes about your kisses.
"It neither smells nor tastes of anything," said Frank Hansen, a biotech engineer at Maritex, which believes it is the world's main producer of cod sperm for cosmetics.
The sperm is used to bind water in body lotions and make-up.
"It is much better to make a water binder from a natural product than to concoct a chemical cocktail to do the same job," said Hansen. He added that cod sperm extract was also used in medicines and breast milk substitutes.

A lot of people aren't aware that mushed up fish are in Caesar salad dressing (the gourmet kind, not the fast food kind).
Any other sick facts? Well, Parmesan cheese, dirty socks and vomit all have the same chemical (butyric acid) contributing to their odor.

MANY ingredients marked as "natural flavor or color" are from animal ingredients, and are in things like chips, snack, drinks, soda, juices, etc. I avoid "natural" flavors like the plaque. Also, companies are allowed to use up to 2% of unidentified ingredients in foods-often from animal sources, and not listed on the labels-another brilliant idea from the crackheads at the FOOD AND DEATH ADMINISTRATION
