What percentage of total international debt does the US deficit constitute?

I am aware that we run a trade deficit with every country in the world. I should like an answer to the original question, but I am also willing to accept: How long would Argentina have lasted (several times) if it had possessed the dollar?

    Your mixing apples and oranges.

You mixed debt with deficit, they are two separate things.

The current US debt is around 8.8 billion,

2.4 trillion owed to foreign nations, banks or individuals.

3.5 trillion of the US debt is owed to the US government, by the US government.

2.8 trillion of the US debt is owed to US citizens.

The 2007 budget year had a deficit of 238 billion dollars.

Bu the way, the US does not have a trade deficit with every country, we actualy havve a trade deficit with around 31 countries and a trade surplus with around 90 countries.

    As to your question.

I could find no web page that listed total international debt.

But the current US defict is about 10% of the Total US foreign owned National Debt.

Considering that Argentina uses the Peso, The US dollar has historicly been alot more stable a currency than the Peso.

the Argentine peso was equivalent to the dollar until American corporations and corrupt Argentine politicians conspired to destroy their economy. Thanks, Menem.
