Why would Jeff wreck a car that he owns for a race so meaningless?
Believe me, if we were at Homestead and Jeff needed to get by Jimmie to win the Championship, Jimmie would be in the wall. Don't sit here and try to tell me that your driver would do it because that is a load of crap.
It's easy to say what your driver might do when he isn't the owner of the car. So please, do us all a favor and SHUT UP!

"In the grand scheme of things every race is important" BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!
Jeff did the right thing. What goes around comes around. Jimmie will let Jeff lead a couple laps once we get into the chase and those 10 points won't matter.

There are no more "meaningless" races with the winning bonus points AND better seeding in the chase. Jeff was mad but he is not dumb (regardless of what people may think). I think it is good that he was pissed, he has the fire of a great competitor. As a teammate and owner it would not have been that wise for him to dump Jimmie. Another thing people don't realize is that the 48 car was better than the 24 but just didn't have as fresh of tires. Gordon was better into the turns but Johnson repeatedly pulled away from him off the corners. If you saw the front of Gordon's car you know he wasn't going real easy on Jimmie, but give Johnson a little credit as he did everything he could to hold on for that win. After the next weekend off Jeff will calm down, look at the big picture and see that he still on top of the standings. Jimmie will have to let him lead a lap here and there and it will at least make up for the points difference from first to second. They will continue to be smart and dominant.

Its one thing to talk about a raec then another to talk about wrecking someone to win the championship. I mean the COT its alot harder to wreck someone and with the older car if the fender gets underneath the car the car gets loose. It's not like that with the COT. The race is worth 180 points. 5 for leading a lap and 10 for leading the most laps. That's a total of 190 points. The second place driver gets 5 points for leading a lap and then some of the points. Jeff has the lead. He should of won the race but he didn't and I'm a fan of his. I didn't want him to wreck Jimmie as that wouldn't have done anything for both of them. I wish their would have been a way for Jeff to pass him cleanly and let him win the race but unfortunately that didn't happen. If it was Homested... Jeff may not have wrecked Jimmie. If Jeff was in teh poinst lead and Jimmie was 2nd then yes he would have for the championship. If Jimmie wasn't in teh Chase then he probably wouldnt wreck him because by finishing second he would win the championship anyhow wihtout wrecking his team and and teammate. Just depends as every situation is different.

In the grand scheme of the series every race is important. As for would Jeff put Jimmie in the wall I can't answer that.I was not driving. It did not matter that it was a team car and he was co-owner if it was closer to the chase things might have been different. But until then race to the finish.

Lets put it this way, both Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson wanted the win, Johnson was leading, Gordon was faster than
Jimmie, but Johnson stood his ground, and it all came down till the last lap.

If it where homestead and it came to winning the championship I believe Jeff would have moved him out of the way. Same if it were reversed #48 would do the same.. Money you know....

A win is never meaningless, when you factor in the points in the chase you are going to get for a win. Thats not to say he is going to wreck a team mates car. But he would if he had to.

you are right, but i answered that question too, and hoped he wrecked himself but not jimmie, and that denny won. i just wanted denny to win. and why are you saying it has no meaning??? 10 extra points plus whoever has the most wins when the chase starts up(assuming he is in the chase) will get the points lead(even if he is in 12th going into the chase 400pts down)
