How do I keep birds from nesting in my mailbox?
My mailbox has an attached tube for newspaper delivery. I have a pair of bluebirds attempting to nest inside the newspaper tube. This happened last year, and a bird was killed when the paperboy shoved the paper in. I'd love any suggestions for convincing my feathered friends to move on.

We had trouble with swallows trying to nest in nooks and crannies on the porch. A friend suggested jamming a pop can there. By golly, it worked. For some reason, the shiny pop can kept them out.
Worth a shot? The other thing you could do is stuff a live cat in the box. Just kidding!

You recommend to inform me the birds are establishing up the mailbox to get interior? Or do you have an open one? If thats the case then you does not have suggested to place a rubber band around, and the mail-woman will no longer be able to open it that way. you have have been given some loopy birds that'll open a closed mailbox, that's all i will assert.

I only wish I had the honor of having bluebirds nest anywhere on my property.I would put a auxiliary mail box up so as not to disturb them..They are on the endangered species list and sing too!!!

Get one of those CDs that you get in the mail from AOL or whatever and attach so that it swings near the mailbox. It scares birds off.

Try placing a small rubber snake inside it, but first let your paperboy and mailman know!
