As far as I know, they won't make any difference. If sex were to be painful for you, then there is some kind of problem occuring, from inadequate arousal resulting in inadequate natural lubrication to more serious problems. For now, I wouldn't worry about it, since I gather that you're not presently sexually active.

Tampons will stretch your vagina a bit, but only to the size of the tampon. Some females have no pain during their first time. Some do, if you are one of the ones that do, and it is just in your vagina, meaning it doesn't feel like the pain is in your lower abdomen. You can try taking it a bit slow, and use lubrication, because sometimes the natural lubrication your body produces is not enough. Now if it is in your lower abdomen, and not just in your vaginal walls, then it would be wise to see a gynecologist.Oh, and yes, if you do bleed a bit it is totally normal.

Tampons do stretch your vagina, but not significantly enough to really impact whether or not sex will be less painful the first time.

I'm not sure if it makes it hurt less but using them won't make you bleed because you've broke this thing called your hymen which is a flap of skin in your vagina that's broken when there is penetration.

A tampon is 3/8" in diameter. My penis is 3" in diameter which is 8 times the size.
Do the math.
